“Great spot for a short break”
Reviewed April 3, 2006

Spent four nights at this hotel. Excellent location. I didn't see any other hotel that is literally right on the premenade with such a great location. Step out of the hotel, cross the road (it's an 'access only' road and not busy) and you're at the beach. Pool is also on the front of the hotel. Short stroll from old town. Hotel was clean and exceptional value. Our room was on the side but you could still see the sea. A room on the front might have been better. Previous comments about music from next door didn't apply when we stayed there - we overlooked the said bar, but all live music finished at a reasonable time and with the windows shut (and aircon on) you could barely hear anyway. Meals are buffet style and, although there was plenty of choice, by our last night the thought of yet another buffet was getting a bit too much. Fortunately there are some excellent restaurants nearby although we only used thesed for lunches. All in, an excellent spot for a short break. Highly recommended.

Stayed in this hotel over the bank holiday weekend, 29th April until 1st May 2005, got a sea view and the view was superb. food was very good, and the staff very pleasant. BUT, next to the hotel on the sea front was the Daytona Bar which had live groups on from approx 12 noon. The music was very loud and carried until 5AM. No matter with double glazing, and the curtains closed sleeping was a problem due to the excessive noise.
The management did their best but it was out of their control.
I have stopped at numerous hotels in Benidorm and this was the first time noise became a problem. The hotel it self is good value for money- apart from parking which costs 10euro per day.
The summary is good location, nice views, good food, pleasant staff but you may be effected by the music next door.

The Sol Elite Costa Blanca (to give it it’s full name) is, along with two or three select others possibly the best located hotel in all of Benidorm. It is directly on the Levante Beach Promenade and surrounded by some of Benidorm’s more upmarket bars and restaurants. It is only 7 mins walk to the promontory at the old town and around 10 minutes to the many british bars of the new town around Calle’s Gerona and Ibiza. A further 10 mins walk will take you to the very british Rincon De Loix area.

When we vacationed there in April 2005 we felt like teenagers (aged 42 and 40) as there were so many customers of pensionable age and above. The hotel is a little more traditionally fitted out than most others in the resort and deserves it 4 stars for cleanliness and location. The cleaners do an excellent job however most other staff other than the bald guy on reception seem very dour. On the same subject , whilst the dining room waiting staff work very efficiently they are among the most dour I have ever come across, if you’re unfortunate enough to sit in the area on the right hand side at the rear of the dining room you may get the one with glasses and darkish hair. This guy is a waste of space with the customers.

20:00 to 22:00 is the time for dinner in the often overbearingly hot dining room which is a tad late and definitely favoured the Spanish guests who tend to eat later in the day. The food was mostly decent quality but again more suited to the Spanish and far too predictable. Two types of Fish and one of Veal every single night. Breakfast suited mostly everybody.

The rooms were a little small and more traditionally furnished but had all mod cons required. Only the ghastly Eurosport and CNN for English speaking customers on the TV and the air conditioning is inadequately centrally controlled despite the control options in the room. Too hot for my liking but luckily there was always a fine breeze out on our very small side sea view facing balcony.

All in all a smashing wee 4* beachfront hotel for whom I would have no hesitation in recommending if they could sort out the dining room and guest room temperatures as well as the very dour staff (cleaners and bald guy at reception excluded)

9march-16march 2005 we booked this hotel thinking all the rooms would have great views, but we got stuck on a side first floor room over looking a tower block, the room was always dark.
Food very average, not up to our usual 4*. resturant staff not very friendly.
But as I said great location on beach, good lying at the pool people watching.
Great for people with walking disabillities.
Would go again but pay extra for a sea view.
