Little surprised by some of the reviews on here I had a lovely holiday at the sol pelicanos with my three friends staff were nice food was good, saw some filming of benidorm whilst laying by the pool, only thing that would put me off from returning is the English rabble that were there! Disgraceful should be ashamed, why go on holiday and behave like animals and that was the women! It's a lovely hotel

Stayed here at end of June with a friend it took 2 hours to check in which was awful the staff didn't know what they was doing while waitin upon check in we saw a fight in the reception. Not really something you want to see when you arrive. When we did finally check in they couldn't speak English I needed a plaster and it took 15 min for them to understand me. The room was not cleaned properly and found dirty knickers on the balcony.
The food was ok if you like squid everyday that's all they seemed to have
Pool area is fab but you need to get up extra early to claim a sunbed as people que from 8am. There is a man (miquel) which stands by the pool and if your not bk within 2 hours of placing your towels then he throws them off.
No inflatables allowed in the pool but this is ok as pedro the lifeguard lets you go in with them after 6pm. He is very miserable though and doesn't smile.
Plenty of stag doos in the hotel we noticed they had no respect for others
Oh Ben the rep.. He is great and would do anything for you. But watch out as he has a master key and let's himself into your room 'to talk' if you take a shine to him.
Overall a good hotel just has its downfalls here and there :)

We have just returned from our first family holiday with our 5 year old son and 7 year old daughter. As our daughter is in a wheelchair we were a little anxious about travelling abroad. We were pleasantly surprised with our clean and modern room, however, a little disappointed there was no balcony like we had requested.
Meal times were great. There was a varied selection of fresh food and always something new to try. The kids loved being able to choose what they wanted too! The drink was really good too, some lovely cocktails and the beer was cold.
We only have a few complaints: some of the reception staff didn't speak much English and therefore we struggled to communicate with them. The kids club entertainers spoke mostly Spanish to all the kids so sometimes our son was unsure what games/activities they were doing, although they were very good and made sure he was included in all the games. The hotel only has 2 lifts which was the most frustrating part for us. We were on the 5th floor so had to use the lift often. They were slow and often full of able bodied people who didn't necessarily need to use the lift but would leave my daughter and I waiting for the next one to arrive which could take a good 5 minutes.
The hotel is located in a central area just a few minutes from the beach and a short taxi ride to Mundomar.
The evening entertainment was really good for both adults and kids. Don't expect broadway standards but it was fun and the performers gave it everything. We saw Grease, Fantasia, Lion King. They also had a mini disco every night and a live band played on the friday.
The bar staff were brilliant and always had a chat with you and played with the kids.
There is a 40cm pool which we used most as it meant our son could play in it without having to wait for us to get his sister. The bigger pool in the Pelicanos looked brilliant but just a bit deep for our kids.
It's a great hotel, not perfect but ideal for what we paid and what we were after. Benidorm has a reputation for being rowdy but we didn't see anything like that. Just a great holiday for us and would highly recommend to anyone, especially those with children.

We have just returned from a week in this hotel it was not a good start to wait a hour in a que to check in the reception staff have no idea about preparing documents and wrist bands to Incomming clients I have never seen such a shambles in 30 years of being a admin person . While waiting in this line the smell of dirty toilets wafted over you I wanted to turn back and go home , also there was thiefs watching us all four incidents occurred this sat afternoon from four wallets pinched to a family's passports pinched out of their rucksacks , as soon as the people were sent out of this hotel to walk to the sister hotel next door they were all bumped into by men pushing hand luggage behind them I was scared to walk out of the hotel after dark , apart from this the food was very nice and the entertainment team were very good I enjoyed all the shows very professional costumes and dance routines , we were put in the sister hotel on floor 8 which was like a prison cell , two beds a tv wardrobe and a window that opened end six inch no balcony and no chair to sit on in the room the bed was the only place to sit they call this a family room which would be hard work with young kids also air conditioning that wasn't working efficiently , the cleaning of the room was a poor standard when we got in to the room the bathroom was dirty someone hadn't flushed the toilet from the previous occupancy , also there were dirty marks where a glass had been placed on the bed side tables the floor wasnt moped or brushed all week i spilt some crips by accident picked up large ones but the crumbs were by the bedside all week
this hotel really plays on the fact that the benedorm programme is filmed there it is a two star hotel trying to be better I purchased wifi for seven days at 30 euros only to find it only works in the main hotel lobby and not at all in the sister hotel or in any rooms also it broke down on the third day so I demanded some money back all in all a crap holiday which costs a fortune at least we diddnt have our hard earned money pinched or our passports like the four other holiday makers that have had there weeks ruined . This hotel is in dire need of upgrading if it is going to compete with the new hotels next to it which are super modern and charge the same price

Room Tip: Try to choose the orcas instead of the main hotel it has had a refurb just that the rooms facing the...

Loved this hotel. Plenty of sunbeds. Food was brilliant. Staff friendly. Pool area was really good. In the centre of Benidorm, near the beach and lots of shops. My only gripe was that I didn't have a room with a balcony, But the rooms were good so it wasn't a huge deal. Fresh towels were given every day. Entertainment was more for kids but we went out at night as everything was on our doorstep. Had a great time and will Deffo go back.

Stayed at the Pelicanos between the 6th and 13th of June, have only just gotten round to writing a review.

We're a young couple without children arriving with another young couple in a party of four. Upon check-in we were split between two buildings, each with separate facilities and restaurant. This wasn't the end of the world but would've been nice to have been kept closer. They were sent to the 'Ocas' building and we were kept in the 'Pelicanos'.

We had specifically requested a low floor which I understand is a hard ask in Benidorm as the majority are high rise buildings, we were offered the 8th and declined then re-accommodated to the 3rd which was better. Unfortunately the room was an 'end room' so was considerably smaller than the others, it was clean but had seen better days and needed a little renovation. We requested a change to a standard sized room if possible, quick telephone call and we were offered a move to the Ocas building where our friends had been sent; we accepted.

Once we had made it to the Ocas, there was a two hour wait for our room to be made up. The lady running the desk was overran and had little attention to offer us. Once we finally got our 3rd room, it turned out there was no balcony. This wasn't the end of the world, but it's a first and would've been nice to have gotten some prior warning. The room itself was lovely, large, modern and clean. No balcony though was a disappointment.

We'd booked half board, food was good but nothing special. Preferred the food at the Helios, Rio Park and Ambassador which where also co-incidentally much cheaper options.

Pool area was the biggest disappointment. Expected the hotel to be mainly for families etc, but couldn't move for stag do's. We're not boring or quiet ourselves by any stretch of the imagination but it was a little much. Even the Perla was less rowdy for much cheaper. Beds were crammed in and overpopulated as a good portion had been restricted for filming of the TV show. Pool bar prices were also ridiculous compared to the hotels competitors. Spent more time using the Rio Parks facilities than the hotel we'd booked and paid good money for.

Overall the holiday was great but the hotel relies on the reputation to ask for unwarranted prices. May have just been a particularly bad week for clientele? Not sure, but I'd rather stay at one of the competitors previously mentioned next time. Pelicanos cost more yet delivered less, nothing special.

Stayed at this hotel 16th - 30th June, first time in Benidorm so that was an eye opener in itself!!!! however the hotel was excellent and extremely clean, have to agree with previous comments the maids do a fantastic job can imagine what some peoples rooms must be like from the state they leave their dining room table! maybe if people (mainly the English) helped a little by clearing their used plates away to the trolley there wouldn't be too many uncleared tables in the dining room. Entertainment was great for the kids and front desk staff were very helpful. They were just finishing filming Benidorm whilst we were there so that area of the pool and the pool bar were cordoned off, but swiftly removed and put back to normal when filming ceased. We stayed in Pelicanos on the 9th floor overlooking Ocas and the outdoor evening entertainment, have to say preferred being that side as the room was in the shade in the afternoon our friends were on the other side of Pelicanos and did get the sun in the afternoon so room quite warm in the evening if air con not used. Food was good but after two weeks got a little samey and we English don't always eat chips some new potatoes or even potato bravas would have been nice. Have to admit couldn't manage a full English every morning and did revert to croissants, fruit and yoghurt lol overall a great hotel, well managed and very clean would stay again if I ever dare brave Benidorm again!!!!
