We stayed as a group of 10 in July, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and basic with a shared toilet to another single room which was shock but not a problem as the other room was taken by one of our party. I would only recommend this hotel for short stays but it is a lovely place.

We just spent a fantastic weekend in sunny Benidorm and The Babylon Hotel really made the weekend for us! What a fantastic hotel in a great location. The Babylon is located in the old town which was really easy to get to once we were dropped off by the airport bus (about a 15 minute walk)

Prior to arriving in Benidorm, I emailed the hotel a few times with various questions (being super efficient and doing my research) and Tony, the owner, promptly replied to all my emails and was really friendly and helpful.

On arrival at the hotel, my friend and I were greeted in reception by Peter - he was really helpful and welcoming (and utterly hilarious!)

We were directed to our room, and once we'd dropped off our bags and changed we ventured up to the GORGEOUS roof terrace for a well deserved glass of cider! WOW - what can I say about the roof terrace apart from WOW - it is absolutely stunning, a real gem to find in the heart of the old town! There's a bar there serving an array of drinks and cocktails and it's always manned by very friendly staff! The terrace is an absolute suntrap and is so relaxing and comfortable and pretty! Had a great 3 hour sleep on one of the sun loungers too!

The room itself was spot on - clean, spacious and had everything that we needed. We had a twin room and the use of a shared bathroom (most rooms are actually en-suite, and they are going to be refurbing the hotel soon so that all rooms are en-suite) - however, we had booked the room knowing that we were going to be using a shared bathroom - the bathroom was lovely - really clean, very modern and with a lovely shower! (very refreshing as it was SO hot outside!) and we were only sharing with one other room, and we never even saw those guests so there was never a wait for the bathroom!

The hotel itself is in a great location, a stones-throw away from a stunning white sandy beach, right next to Tapas Alley (which was superb and very cultured!) and next door to all shops and local amenities.

We didn't eat in the hotel but there was a great range of food on offer, should we have wanted to. However there are so many restaurants, cafes and eateries in Benidorm that you're totally spoilt for choice.

We had a late flight on our last day so asked if we could check out late, which the hotel kindly accomodated. We also needed to check-in our flights online and print off boarding passes, of which again the owner, Tony, was extremely helpful and let us use his laptop and the hotel printer. After checking out, we were able to store our bags at the hotel whilst making the most of our last few hours in Benidorm tanning ourselves on the beach. On return to the hotel to collect our bags we asked if we could use the bathroom and shower even though we had already checked out and they were absolutely fine with this - even providing further towels for us - which was another lovely little touch!

What a friendly bunch of people that work there - Tony, Peter, Ryan, Kye, Lesley, Gladys - they were all so lovely, welcoming and chatty and took a real pride in their work and a real interest in all their guests that stayed at the hotel.

I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone - it was so much fun, we had many giggles and myself and my friend will hopefully be going back for NYE this year, if not sooner!

Thank you to the whole team for looking after us, we really appreciated all your efforts and hard work and can't wait to come back!!!!

Thank you for such a lovely review, I will pass your comments on to the rest of the team. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Babylon, it was our pleasure to look after you and I look forward to seeing you later in the year. We are hoping the Jasmine would have fully grown by the end of the year so the roof should be absolutely beautiful.

Having recently stayed a the Babylon i felt i must comment on this hotel.
The hotel is set in the old town under new management. The owners are heavily investing to upgrade this place to what I assume by the roof top terrace as a 5 star hotel. Tony, the new owner has developed a top class of staff led by the manager Peter who tirelessly helps to accomodate the guests who only remit is to please the customers/guests.
This hotel is part way through a refit with the roof top terrace absolutely brilliant. Padded sun loungers, a seating area, cooling shower and a bar make this area the best Ive ever seen. Cannot wait to see the rooms and Bar after the refit, this place will be a gem.
The food is first class and very good value. The english breakfast is perfect to start the day, chill out on the roof top and relax with a cool pint for 2 Euros, yes only 2 Euros a pint.
Finaly, the rooms. Comfortable, free safes and ideal for the holiday maker. Oh and by the way, free WIFI throughout the hotel.
Many thanks to Tony, Peter, Kai, Jan, Ryan,Gladys. See you all real soon

This establishment has just changed hands. The rooms I've marked as a 4 although they are undergoing a modernisation. Now, if the newly created roof bar is anything to go by, they will be fantastic.

There are about 15 rooms, a bar downstairs that serves excellent quality breakfasts and a small but extremely high quality menu. I've eaten from the menu and the dishes are so tasty. Also the roof terrace with the cushioned loungers is a really classy alternative to the beach or pool. Even if you're not staying there, the staff make you feel so welcome and they are more than happy to bring your choice of food up to the roof bar. If it gets too hot, there's a shower to cool off under or you can sit under the huge sun shades.

About 4 minutes walk to the beach and the marina and the bars and restaurants over looking these, all the popular bars are just round the corner or down the street, so the location gets top marks, and what pretty little streets.

However, its the fantastic sense of being part of the family that the staff give you. Well done to you all and thank you so much for a lovely, lovely visit. I will definitely return.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay, it is lovely that Peter and the rest of the staff did all they could to make your stay comfortable. We are as you said refurbishing the rooms and this will cause some inconvenience as we have to close those rooms during works (planned for the end of July 2012). We also hope to start on the downstairs bar creating a 'lounge bar' with soft furnishings and a sophisticated feel. When you return you will experience great cocktails with soft soul music, swing and motown being sung.

I will pass on your comments to the staff, it always means a lot to them.

Once again, thank you for your link words

Tony the new owner, Peter the manager and other staff members were friendly, polite and helpful. I only stayed one night, wait for it, but would have stayed for the duration of my holiday had I not booked elsewhere. Actually tried to cancel my booking elsewhere without success but will be staying at The Babylon on my next visit. The roof terrace is marvellous!!!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper then ask for a room at the rear of the hotel. Don't forget, The Baby...

What a difference a few weeks makes! I have had a drink here in previous years and would have never stayed there to be honest. The hotel has recently been taken over and it is impressive how much has changed already. It is clean, very friendly, great food and the newly opened roof top terrace just makes it a special stay! The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of beautiful old town Benidorm. Thank you to Tony and his team for a great holiday! Cant wait to get back and see you all again!

We have just got back from a 7 day break in Benidorm Old Town. A location we have visited once before but stayed some way out. We come across this friendly quaint hotel and wow, what a find. It has recently been taken over and the team including the owner made us feel extremely welcome and accomodating. A new roof top garden is a great way to relax from the hussle and bussle of the town and beach and very relaxing at the end of a day out and about. This is complimented by a new roof top bar with pleasant relaxing music and surroundings, a right little oasis. We found the accomodation to be very clean, secure and what we needed. The food on the newly created menu was some of the best food we have tried, in fact we can highly recommend the Chilli and Lasagne. Due to the new ownership, we were advised that the roof top garden was just the first phase of a complete overhaul and we are already excited of the prospect of going back later this year. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and the very friendly team - a team that made our week in benidorm possibly one of the most enjoyable holidays that we have had.
