“Benidorm Rocks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2009

I have just returned form a Hen Weekend in Benidorm (2/05/09 - 05/05/09). Hotel was in a fab location, really central for everything.

The hotel was full of older people but think that could be to do with the time of year we were there. Didn't stay in the hotel to watch the entertainment so can't really comment on that. The Hotel was quite strict with regards to noise levels etc etc but what do they expect from a Hen Weekend!

Food was ok & you always found something that you liked had a wide variety & all meals were buffet style.

The pool was freezing cold but was ideal to jump in when you had a hangover, the pool side snack bar only opened up on the last day but again think this was due to the season only just starting.

Rooms, well all I can say is take plenty of insect repeliant as every one got at leat one mosquito bite. The rooms were ok for a base & were quite clean.

All in all had a great 4 days in Benidorm & would stay in the hotel again due to the location.

went to this hotel and the end of March beginning of April for 11 nights. Really enjoyed it the staff on reception were excellent and very helpful. We were on the 6th floor not a problem. The reason the lift broke down was because some silly guests insisted on cramming 7 people in hence the breakdown. We did not have a problem used the service lift when other not available.

The rooms were adequate as said before you only sleep in them

The food was very good catered for British people and there was something for everyone my husband is fussy and I mean fussy and he coped really well.

The bar staff were very good and the drinks were very reasonable.

If you have chance go to Cafe Benidorm it was excellent good value for money.

I would definitely go again to this hotel.

We have just returned from Benidorm on Thursday - This was the first time I had been. The hotel was very central - We were right next to a great bar called Morgan's Tavern.

The hotel staff were extreamly freindly and helpful.
Our room was on the 3rd floor, and very clean.

The meals were buffet style, although they were basic, they were enjoyable.

The hotel bar was cheap & the bar staff were always pleasant.

The hotel was catered for the older customer, however I enjoyed my stay & would recommend the hotel to others.

My husband and I stayed for 11 nights in this Hotel. I can only praise it. The staff of reception were extremely helpful.
The room was adequate after all how much time do you spend there. There was no noise from outside the hotel in the nights only from hotel guests on one occasion.
The food was very good and of course if catered for British people, my husband who is
extremely fussy and I mean fussy found something to eat every meal. The only time it was really different was on Gala Nights when the local Spanish came in for meals which really tells you how good it was there.
The drinks were very reasonaly priced and the bar staff were excellent bringing snacks with the drinks etc.
We only stayed in hotel in the evening on two occasions and the entertainment was good
but if you really want a variety of things to see you have to go outside to the many clubs and bars something for everyone.
Would not hesitate to go back again.

We have recently returned from a week in Benidorm and must say this is the worst hotel we have stayed in, in the resort of Benidorm. The staff were friendly enough, but the food in the hotel was very lacking in choice, food was never very hot so always had to be reheated in the microwave. There seems to be a distinct lack of imagination as far as the food was concerned, for example, roast pork was the main meat one night and the next night it was pork chops! Just very disappointing. The week in Benidorm was a cold week and when we arrived in the dining room for our first meal the room was freezing and very uncomfortable to sit and eat your meal as they had the air conditioning on full blast. However, after complaining they did actually turn this off and the temperature in the dining room was acceptable.

Another issue was the fact that there was only 2 lifts in the hotel and for 75% of the time we were there only one lift was working. We were on the 6th floor and had to walk up and down the stairs all the time as it took too long to get a lift. Forutnately we were able but we saw many guests with walking sticks walking up and down the stairs, not good enough in our opinion. We were offered to use the staff lift but again that kept breaking down. People were stuck in the lift for 10 minutes at times and not just once whilst we were there, it must happened at least a dozen times, a very frightening experience I would have thought and it made you very apprensive to use the lift at all.

We also had difficulty sleeping as the walls are very thin and you can hear people talkig quite clearly in the room next door. So if you get a snorer next door to you, you will not sleep!

One positive thing was the happy hour in the hotel and we have to say that this was value for money!

All in all I would rate the food served at this hotel as more like a 2* and would not recommend this hotel really.

stayed for one week and the hotel was perfectly ok. geared towards older people.Surrounded by nightcclubs on both sides,so a high floor may be an advantage.Plenty of cheap bars and entertainment nearby. On the ave mediterranean where lots of buses stop and only a short walk to the levante promenade.Meals were mainly for the english and although there was not a great choice there was something for everybody. No children present and entertainment on a nightime was pretty good it did not go on after midnight.Prices in the hotel were reasonable bottle wine 6.50 euros pint 2.40 euros, happy hour three times per week 16.00-17.00. Pool area small and if sunbathing is amajor priority you may be disappointed as the sun may not shine on the area for all of the day in the summer. The hotel was on the small side (168 bedrooms)very clean, friendly and well run.Television available in bedrooms,bbc1,skysports1,eurosport,channel 5,you need to hire remote(12 euros)but it is refundable.Be wary of the men who play the pea under the potato game, dont even look interested they will menace you, surround you insist you place a bet and feel for a wallet or money they can steal.

  • Liked — well run clean and well located
  • Disliked — proximity of nightclubs
