“nice hotel”
Reviewed February 1, 2009

stayed for one week and the hotel was perfectly ok. geared towards older people.Surrounded by nightcclubs on both sides,so a high floor may be an advantage.Plenty of cheap bars and entertainment nearby. On the ave mediterranean where lots of buses stop and only a short walk to the levante promenade.Meals were mainly for the english and although there was not a great choice there was something for everybody. No children present and entertainment on a nightime was pretty good it did not go on after midnight.Prices in the hotel were reasonable bottle wine 6.50 euros pint 2.40 euros, happy hour three times per week 16.00-17.00. Pool area small and if sunbathing is amajor priority you may be disappointed as the sun may not shine on the area for all of the day in the summer. The hotel was on the small side (168 bedrooms)very clean, friendly and well run.Television available in bedrooms,bbc1,skysports1,eurosport,channel 5,you need to hire remote(12 euros)but it is refundable.Be wary of the men who play the pea under the potato game, dont even look interested they will menace you, surround you insist you place a bet and feel for a wallet or money they can steal.

My wife and i have stayed at this hotel many times ,always clean ,good service, and the best location for clubland.
To our sadness we were told the retaurant mait`re de Salbator is very ill and can no longer work ,he was a great charactor and we missed him.
Our room was well serviced the entertainment was as we would expect from a 3star but the retaraunt menu was not as we have come to expect ,the quality was down and a marked absence of seafood and of speciality sweets was disappointing the quirky combination of some of the meal components was even more so and the quantity served was below par,all perfectly edible and hot ,but without the edge we have enjoyed in the past
Do not expect the air conditioning to work if you do the noise will keep you awake all night, open the window and the midgies will keep you awake all day as well .Will we be going back there again? of course we will ! were british ..and with john and josephs next door offering beer at 1euro 40 cents a pint .... viva espania

We have just had a wonderful holiday at the Riudor Hotel. The Staff were Friendly/ welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.I particularly wanted one of the corner rooms overlooking the pool and when we found we were not in one I asked at the reception and he gave me the keys as one had just been vacated. The rooms are not over big but adequate with plenty of storage space and coat hangers. There was also shampoo soap and shower gel provided.Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels whenever you needed them.Although the hotel is near the Med/ Avenue and between night clubs and bars we never heard a thing at night when the doors were closed. The food was lovely we had no complaints with full english Breakfast every day and a nice evening meal. The restaurant is bright /clean and nice table linen and glasses provided. There is Prize Bingo early evenings and a cabaret act every night about 10.0clock.This hotel is not one of the bigger ones so we found we soon got to know many of the other guests and found it to be very friendly. My only criticism was that the pool was very deep from one end to the other and me not being a very good swimmer felt a little apprehensive as I couldnt touch the bottom. All in all we had a lovely time and I would recommend this hotel and we will definitely return

My wife and I stayed at the Riudor for 1 week in August. we booked it based on tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed.

This is great value for money. The location is central and 100 metres from the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was ok - you could always find something to your liking in the varied buffet.

The other simple thing I liked was that you cannot reserve sunbeds with towels, so that sunbeds were easy to get by the pool.

Air conditioning was very effective, so you could close the dooors and we were not bothered by any noise.

The maid service was excellent and we had the room cleaned every day with fresh towels supplied.

NOTE: do not use the exchange place between the Riudor and the Sol Pelicanos (behind the Amnassador and to the right). It advertises Bank rates in a kind of Orange/Yellow sign. The will rip you off big time. They adverised 1.26 Euros to the pound and actually paid 1.06 - pointing to small print above the counter that you cannot read.

Just came back from this hotel after a 11 day stay. Read all the reviews before going and my final thought before leaving was well, if it's full of old people it will still be preferable to the drunken chavs and their ill behaved offspring that frequent the Flamingo Oasis that we went to last year! (Note, Im sure the Flamingo Oasis is lovely out of the summer holidays!!)

Well, while the majority of guests were certainly of a certain age, there was a wide variety of ages - we're in our mid 30s and found plenty of people around the same age.

Rooms are basic but clean and spacious enough. Our balcony did overlook the Black Chicken but with the air con on and the door closed it didnt bother us one bit.

Reception and Bar area do look a little dated, but again immaculately clean - random note, there's a massage chair in reception that we both used several times during our stay ! I want a timeshare on it!

Food is good, while some of the dishes were a little strange there truly is something for everyone there. If nothing else on the main menu grabs you then there is always salad.

Pool area is fine - The nicest thing was that you do not have to get up at the crack of dawn for a sunbed (And this was Jul/Aug!) due to no families staying at the hotel. The pool is very deep all the way around except the old kids pool. Even though there are notices saying no inflatables , there were always lots of lilos in the pool that everyone incl ourselves shared.

Entertainment isnt great, lots of pub singer types, (but the older crowd seemed to enjoy) however Wednesdays at around 9pm there's either a reptile show or a parrot show, both of which are good fun. The bingo is a laugh as an after dinner chill out, it's free and you can play for lovely tacky Benidrm themed prizes! LOL! If you dont take yourself too seriously it's a giggle and like a badge of honour to win! Sam the compere is a great guy.

Location is fab, just in the middle of everything but not too close to be kept awake. A very short walk to the beach too. Lots of pubs and bars within easy walking distance.

I can certainly recommend Gigolos, The Palladium (But not Mike Curtis!), Rikki Stevens at the UK bar and Wheeltappers and Shunters. I cannot recommend Crissy Rock (Also at the UK bar) nor Dangerous Brian at Rachels.

Jokers is a good nightclub. We had 2 good nights there too!

Take a visit to the beautful old town at night and eat a fish dinner at the marina, really feels unlike you are in Benidorm.

The Riudor with it's friendly staff, excellent location and general cosiness (its a relatively small hotel for Benidorm) will definitely merit a return trip from me!

My husband and I booked a short stay in this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent the rooms were very clean and the pool area had sufficient sunbeds/parasols. We didnt realise when we booked that there was no children under 16 allowed, but this suited us as we were on our own with no grandchildren. The breakfast was the best my husband has had in Benidorm and we have visited 7 times this year. He particularly liked the idea that the omelletes at breakfast were cooked to your liking as you waited. There was also pancakes with syrup at breakfast. In most hotels at this time of the year you have to get up at the crack of dawn for a sunbed, not in this hotel, you could get a sunbed at any time of the day. There was also entertainment in the evening at the poolside which was very good. As the Riudor is very central (right outside is the Talk of the Coast) and you would expect it to be very noisy, but this was not the case. When the balcony door was closed you could not hear any noise. If you are looking for a holiday without children running around,or families booking all the sunbeds then there children not using them, then this is the hotel to visit. By the way we are not anti-children as we have 8 children and 4 grandchidren. If you are looking for a holiday where you can relax with good food ,entertainment ,and shops right on the doorstep, you should visit the Riudor.
We arrived after the meal time and the reception staff told us to go to the bar where we would get a drink(either alcoholic or tea or coffee)and a sandwich or a toastie. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

  • Liked — Child free and you could eat in comfort/no mess made by adultes not supervising there children
  • Disliked — very central, no queues for sunbeds and the food was excellent. The staff were very helpful
