Description: Founded in 1888 by a group of locals, was the first settlement with electricity from Pamplona, "opened to the public on the eve of San Fermin by filling to the porches", say the Chronicles of the time followed year after year, and still is the meeting point of all the locals, and all those foreigners who want to see the local who became world famous writer Ernest Hemingway.

A tick off our list of places to go in Pamplona. A great location and atmosphere in the Cafe. My feeling is that the staff are not all that friendly, and they are a little "sloppy". There was a glass that smashed on the floor and it was some time before it was cleaned up - with some glass chips remaining.

Tapas and drinks were okay - nothing too fancy, and a little over priced.

Old Hemmingway haunt and right around corner from city hall and main square where Chupinazo takes place during the running of the bulls. Fun place to have a drink and see locals dance during the festival. Local families were dancing and having a great time while we were there.

When we arrived it was ABSOLUTELY packed — however we did find a place easily. The waiters were super helpful and everything was really quick. Food was great and the portions are... WOW... like... enormous.

Food was fine.

Would gladly go back.

We were advised to visit this cafe for the sake of saying that we had enjoyed a coffee in the same cafe as Hemingway. The only problem being that their coffee is pretty ordinary. Nice location, friendly and efficient staff, but the coffee was average at best. Worth a visit for the atmosphere and location, can't comment on the food, but perhaps have a beer or wine instead.

Sitting outside at the Plaza Castillo is great, but don't miss to enjoy the wonderful art nouveau interior.
