Casa Paco is ideally situated in the shadow of a church in the bylanes of Pamplona. I glanced upon the happy blue awning as I was ambling down the streets and found this amazing jewel.
For 11 euros per person, I had:
Entree: The most delicious, creamy and flavorful paella I have ever had! Seriously. nothing in Barcelona ever came close to the goodness of this dish
Main course: A local lightly battered fried fish (Hack?) - was light and very tasty
Dessert: Cuajada - a local Basque cross between a yogurt and cottage cheese that I ate with honey. It came a in a claypot and was incredibly yummy
Wine (yes, it was included in the price) - a local Basque Crianza Irougley (served cold like all wine in Spain)
We also had the most gracious waiter who spoke excellent English, French and Spanish. It was one of the most charming afternoons, chatting with friends, sitting in the shade of 500 yr old church in a sleepy Spanish town. Highly recommend!
