I stayed here during San Fermin in 2007, 2008 and plan to stay there in 2010. After staying in hostels and campsites during San Fermin in 2005 and 2006, Maisonnave is without a doubt the better option. It is a bit expensive, but all hotels are during the festa and it is well worth the price. I backpack and stay in a whole variety of locations and very rarely do I recommend highly priced hotels, but considering the location and quality of this hotel, it's worth it! It's in the heart of the city and walking distance to all of the action, including the bull run route. It's a quiet hotel but with plenty of action and right new all of Pamplona's attractions. The service was superb and the rooms clean and spacious - even though we were hardly in there. The reception helped us get tickets to the bull ring in the evenings, even though they are sold out weeks in advance, and even though the lady at reception spoke very broken English, she accommodated us extremely well. We were always greeted with a smile, even when they were hectically busy because of the festival. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, with lots of cereals and a nice English and European breakfast (hot and cold meats). What I really loved about this hotel is that it isn't packed with international tourists and is without a doubt a hotel for Spanish locals - we came across very few English speaking visitors that were staying there. Still, we were treated like locals and I highly recommend you stay here if you plan on visiting during San Fermin. I will miss San Fermin in 2009, but will be there in 2010. See you all next year!
