My son and I have just returned from a week-end in Pamplona enjoying not only the Bull Run but also the start of a week-long festival.

A new experience for us, the hotel made several suggestions that really made a difference and made all the arrangements before we had even arrived. They advised us on where to be positioned for the run itself; organised two really good seats to the bull fight in the evening (a sold out affair) and a balcony from which to watch the bull run on the next day - these are highly sought after and location is all important. Ours was great.

The hotels is also ideally located for the various processions that take place, one where the locals parade with huge giant size puppets and sing to the local saint of which an effigy is carried through the street with great pomp and ceremony. This culminated with various songs almost opposite the hotel which we could see from the hotel balconies.

The restaurant was excellent (we recommend the taster menu - despite ordering from a Spanish menu and not knowing what to expect, each course was delicious). The wines were good - follow their advice as they are knowledgeable and do not try to sell you the most expensive (they were all reasonably priced). Service was excellent too.

We were fortunate to be upgraded and had a lovely room. The standards throughout the hotel were outstanding.

As others have commented, the staff were great. Although English was not widely spoken, nothing was too much trouble and we managed to communicate. Taxis to the airport came within minutes. Although everyone is dressed in white and red looking somewhat alike, we were recognised by various memebers of staff and greeted as we came and went. We were made to feel very welcome.

The courtyard offered some tranquillity from the bustle and pandemonium outside and is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: we were upgraded to a suite (206) which was lovely and quiet.

I stayed 1 night on a brief visit to Pamplona in May. Quite a grand hotel with ornate features, large sweeping staircase and huge chandeliers. Big room with large bathroom. English TV channels. There are a number of vintage motorcars in the courtyard. Quiet courtyard at the back - great for afternoon sun. It is in a good location for visiting the old town. Nice staff. Breakfast cooked to order.

I stayed one night in this beautifully renovated property in the historical centre of Pamplona.
I liked:
- the beautiful historical public spaces with nice antiques (including carriage collection, wow)
- very comfortable bedrooms
- really nice staff
- products at breakfast
- close to lots of restaurants and shopping
- underground parking across the street

I liked a bit less:
- stiff ambiance in the breakfast room
- bathroom toiletries below standard of the hotel

Manager Julio definitely does a great job

This palace is a gem of o hotel located in the heart of old town. Service is impeccable, the room we stayed in was small, but magnificently appointed and had everything we require. Bathrooms were new as well. Do use the stair instead of lifts, if you can, just because it is magnificent staircase not to be missed. Restaurant was beautiful and we also love the carriages collection. Location is great, right next to main square and other attractions. One downside - there is no way you can find a way to get there by car. We had to stop on the main road and run to the hotel desk so they could explain how to get to the carpark, which they did and it was all good after that. It was great value for money overall and we would likely to stay there again.

Room Tip: Every room is great.

Renovated palace with a touch of antique combined with modern comforts and taste. Very friendly service and good location, good breakfast. Parking in near garage. Comfortable, even luxurious rooms - fantastic overall experience. Special bonus for those interested in antique vehicles. Excellent value, highly recommended.

Wonderful hotel in heart of "old town" Pamplona.
The hotel has been beautifully restored, with the rooms modern and comfortable and the public areas full of antiques from the original palace which are fascinating.
Check in professional, both rooms of a good size, bathrooms clean (but I would have appreciated a bath as well as a shower).
This is a lovely hotel within walking distance of the interesting sights of Pamplona.
Breakfast was a la carte, and a bit chaotic. The food ordered and served was delicious (very fresh eggs), but one order was forgotten and by the time we managed to catch the waitresse's eye (service was appalling), it was time to leave, so one of our group did not manage to have a full breakfast!
Very strange their system of pricing: single room with breakfast (and in our case, none) costs the same as double room with breakfast?

This hotel is a recently renovated palace and maintains some of the fixtures from its previous days, which gives the hotel a beautiful and grand appearance. We stayed two nights and the room was a reasonable size, very comfortable and stylish. Bathroom was average sized but also built quite well, no tub but that was not a problem for us. Staff very friendly and very helpful and spoke excellent English. Location is quite good and most things within a 15-20 minute walk. Would definitely stay here again. Did not eat at the restaurant so I can't comment on quality or price of food.
