“Great on a budget”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2012

Stayed here as part of a tour of Northern Spain with a group of friends, I am 40 and used to 4 and 5 star hotels, but as somewhere comfortable to stay with friends who know they're really only going to use the Hostel for sleeping, this place was great. That said, the bathrooms really do need some attention, but they work and are clean. Beds were comfortable, the place was quiet and secure. Nice little touches included wall lights for each bunk and bedside "pockets" to hold your overnight basics. Free tea and coffee all day, continental breakfast included at this price was a pleasant surprise. Free Wi Fi, Computers if needed, Common room with a variety of drinks available. 10 min walk to old town centre. Highly reccommended.

This was a fantastic little hostel. The staff were helpful and friendly, providing maps and showing us places to eat and visit.

There is breakfast offered, with cereals, toast, biscuits, croissants, mini cupcakes, cookies... etc up until about 11am. They also have a fairly well equipped, reasonably sized kitchen with free tea/coffee all day.

The common room is very homey and cosy, with couches, a TV with DVD player, and bookshelves with books and boardgames. There is also a very small bar with drinks for sale.

We stayed in a 6 bed dorm and found it to be spacious and clean, with nice touches like pictures on the walls and brightly coloured linens and blinds, which helped with the atmosphere.

There are medium sized lockers in each room - you need to provide your own padlock - and towels are available for a small cost.

They also have a washing/drying service, where they will wash and dry your clothes for a pretty reasonable price considering they do it all for you!

There are three bathrooms with showers and toilets that are clean and tidy. Because the hostel is so small we had no problems with waiting for showers or toilets.

Overall, I really enjoyed staying here! This is a fairly small hostel, so a nice place to spend time if you don't want to stay out all day and night.

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The staff are extra friendly and went out of their way to help us. Even did our washing for us!!! Gave us free beer vouchers @ the Cerveza festival. Great free DVD collection. We even used the printer!

I stayed at Hemingway for 2 nights with friends during the Running of the Bulls. We booked our rooms 6+ months in advance and were thrilled that we secured a spot when we did. Every time we returned to the hostel there were more and more people gathered outside hoping for a spare place. Of course this was during the busiest time of the year, so booking early is probably not essential during other times of the year. Regarding the hostel itself, it was quite easy to find. Just a 10 minute walk from the Bus station and about 2 blocks in off the main road. It is also about a 5 minute walk to the bull ring and the central district of town. The rate was reasonable considering the time of year, but I think the normal rate is very reasonable for a hostel. We stayed in the 6 person room, with three bunk beds. Each of us had our own locker in the room although we knew to bring our own locks. I am pretty sure they rent locks on site. They also provided us with towels for a nominal fee, maybe 1 euro. The bathrooms were clean, 3 in total. They were always stocked with the usual toiletries, even considering the busy and crazy time during the Running. We also spent one afternoon recovering in the common room which had a TV with a decent DVD selection, a couple of computers for internet and great couches to fall asleep on. And finally, the staff was great, always on hand and helpful. They gave us great tips on attending and participating in the run and where/how to get tickets for the bullfight. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone. Be sure to check out the bar across the street Bar Amaya for great tapas and a friendly local crowd!

This is one of the best hostels I've stayed in ever. The STAFF are incredibly FRIENDLY and knowledgeable about the city - they have maps and guides at hand and lots of insider / local tips on where to go / what to see / eat. The rooms are quite roomy, each bed has a sizeable locker, and they are very quiet at night. Sheets are free, and mine smelt super clean and freshly washed. The bathrooms are very clean, well-equipped (soap, loo roll, paper towels). The kitchen is large and well-equipped. The FREE BIG BREAKFAST is self-serve; there is a whole variety of options to pick and you can just get as much as you want, it is from 8-12 so suits everyone. The common room is large and split into a sofa / TV area, and a dining area, great for meeting people. The staff cleaned almost several times a day I was there and very very thoroughly, the place was SPOTLESS. The decor is nice too, modern and varied throughout. There are dorms (very roomy and no more than 6) and private rooms (either twin beds or a double, very smart). THE BEST THING about this hostel (aside from the helpfulness of the staff) is the fact they have pre-empted almost every service you could want or need: you can do your laundry and dry it (cheaply as well), make cheap international phone calls, use the internet and print, if you want to stay in there is a TV and stereo system (with films and CDs). I hadn't even originally planned to go to Pamplona but 'm glad I did 'cause the city was beautiful and this hostel and the staff made it one of my favourite spots in Spain.
