“THE PUNIC WALLS - NOT AS THE NAME MAY IMPLY”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013

This museum gives you an idea of just how powerful the Carthaginian people were. If you arrive in Cartagena by mainline Renfe, Feve narrow gauge Train from Los Nietos, Mar Menor or by bus, you will see the Punic Walls Museum on your right opposite Hotel Habanero as you make your way to the old city centre. It is quite humbling to realise that these walls are more than 200 years old,

“Wall and catacombs are fascinating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

A rather small museum but well worth the visit. Take the time to watch the short film. The museum has been built around the wall so that it is now enclosed in a building. It is set up so you can wander around it.

The catacombs of the Guild of St. Joseph is also at this site. It is pretty creepy wandering around inside of it.

“Small but interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

Small but modern building,Very helpful staff. Before you see the wall(downstairs), read the info and get the idea about how old is the place and why its important. The Cript:Expect a weird smell inside(maybe humidity), it is small cript but pay attention to the drawings...interesting.

“An unusual and interesting site.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2012

The interpretation panels in the introductory gallery were very good, likewise the panels around the museum. The staff working at the tourist office were helpful. I particularly wanted to buy a Tshirt as a souvenir as I had not seen a design that I liked at the Roman Theatre Museum or the Castillo, so I was delighted to see the perfect T shirt, with the Punic alphabet. Very original and I have worn it with pride! The young lady in charge was helpful and allowed me to try the T shirts on to get the right size. Gracias!

“It's well designed with helpful staff at the Tourist office.”

The interpretation panels were extremely useful, to put the whole thing into perspective historically; the individual panels situated in different parts of the excavation likewise. Not too many visitors when I was there (Sunday morning) so good for taking photographs.
