We booked this villa in August 2017 to stay in June/July this year, because it met our demands for a villa for 8 people with a large pool, tiled garden, 4 bedrooms and privacy. Everything seemed ok until March, when we got notice that there had been a double booking and our booking was cancelled(!). We argued that we booked in August 2017 and got notice that the owner would cancel the other person’s booking. After this we were a bit apprehensive, but everything was in order when we arrived the villa. The positives are that this is an extremely spacious villa with an airy feeling and a lot of places to hang out, nice pool, direct but safe view to the 18th fairway and hole, and three full baths. It has free access to the tennis and paddle courts which are just up the road, a small gym and a small Spar at the clubhouse 2 minutes walk away and a playground just outside the door. The golfshop and the restaurant/bar at the clubhouse are both worth a visit. The A/C Units in the villa are very effective. However, we should have been aware of the amount of flies that come with fertilizing the tomato plantations that surround the golf resort (and maybe the golf course, too?). When visiting the coast, Murcia and Cartagena there were no insects, but in the resort there were lots. Wasps kept building nests on the sun loungers, parasol and the house and we had to remove them. We could not have the pool lit at night because of all the wasps and flies that drowned themselves in it. Also, there was not enough gas for the grill when we arrived, this was however fixed after a couple of days. There were only five functioning sun loungers, not enough for 8 people. Some of the other garden furniture needed replacing, we never used them because they were not inviting. Tiles kept coming off in the pool throughout the whole stay, we collected them at a table outside. I tidied the garden a bit, there were dead branches, leafs and weed that needed to be removed. The door handle to one of the bedrooms kept falling off, the girls locked themselves in one morning because of this and we couldn’t find tools to fix it. There were missing bulbs both indoors and outdoors, I nearly couldn’t see anything in the bathroom mirror in the 4th bedroom. The 4th bedroom is a converted garage, which makes it dark and does not have the airy feeling as the rest of the house. You also have to access the house through the laundry room, which is a little quirky. When we arrived the extra toilet kept running, one had to remember to «unhang» the flushing button every time. A few of the bed matresses were bad and in need of replacement. There was too little, and some damaged cups, cutlery and kitchen amenities. When a house is stated to be extremely luxurious you do not expect loose tiles, loose door handles and so few plates. Also when renting villas in the past there has been a certain level of service coming with it - gardener and pool guy a couple of times a week and change of linen and towels once a week. I would have expected this, especially since we paid extra for towels and linen. Both the adjoining villas had pool and garden service even though no one was there during most of our stay. The villa is for sale (we discovered by a sign in the garden) and this might be the reason nothing is amended or replaced. However, I got the distinct feeling that no one is really looking after the villa, everything was up to us. Nevertheless, we had a nice stay, it works best for long days by the pool or if you’re a keen golfer, car is recommended.
