Needed a break from tapas! We were seated in one of the back "cave" rooms. Very cute! I had the gnocchi with pesto. Very fresh and delicious! The only odd thing (this might be true for other restaurants in Madrid) is that they allowed street vendors to come in and sell products. It was very awkward and made you feel bad for not buying anything as this is how these vendors make their living.

We came here for lunch like we read the Prince and Princess of Asturias had done a few months earlier, but our experience was obviously a very different one.

In the heart of the popular Cava Baja with its wall-to-wall restaurants, the place is attractive with bare brick walls, an intimate atmosphere, large fans on the ceiling and red & white chequered tablecloths.

Sadly it did not live up to this promise. Our meal started badly with a very mediocre bottle of Rioja house wine (we had read on TripAdvisor that the wines here were good) at 11 euro. As a starter we shared an indifferent and badly grilled dish of seasonal vegetables (11.50). My main course was an obviously re-heated lasagna which must have been made some days earlier (12.00). My wife had scaloppine al limone which bore only a passing resemblance to the original Italian (15.50) with French fries which had not been properly cooked….

In short, we left without a dessert or coffee….. suffice to say this is my first-ever negative review for TripAdvisor.

We just pizza and salad. Both were very good and tasty.
The staff is attentive and helpful.
The location in Cava Baja is perfect. You can find many Tapa places around.
We went to this place since we are traveling with children and for them Pizza is a good option.

This is our third time coming to this restaurant, we visited over the last three years. The quality of the food is excellent, however the service is terrible. Our waitress was surly and disinterested and practically threw the plates on the table. A greeting and a smlie would have been nice. The wine was very good. We ordered two bottles of sparkling water, they forgot to bring the second which we reordered and on checking our bill, were charged for three. The restaurant was quiet for a Friday night compared to previous visits. Other restaurants appeared busier. Maybe the owners need to revisit the quality of the service as it let down what otherwise was an excellent meal.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend on holidays as we were sick of eating tapas! Pizza was to die for... light and tasty. Service was great and the wine was superb.. only downside... no ketchup for my fries!!
