This is undoubtedly one of the very best "chinos de barrio" in Madrid - a cheap, local restaurant ideal for families. I'm a British ex-pat living in Madrid.I've been going here for a few years now and the quality has always remained the same. It's very crowded and noisy for lunch (with a fixed meal for less than 10 euros, including the drink), so I recommend going for dinner. If you want a real treat, ring the day before and order a pato laqueado - you get a whole duck, so make sure there are at least three of you! As another reviewer said, the maitre d' (or owner, in fact) is a charming man, although I don't know if he speaks English - I've never tried!
