The El Pasaje is a couple of blocks from Puerta Del Sol. Many restaurants and wine bars very near. We were on the 3rd fl overlooking the narrow street. The first night we were exhausted so slept through the noise from the street. The 2nd night we awake most of the night due to the noise from the bars on the street that lasted most of night. The next night, we remembered a review that said there was a radio in the wall by the bed. We turned on the radio and the music drowned out the street noise and we slept well after that.
Breakfast is at the Levante Cafe next to the Victoria Hotel. Bread, cheese, lunch meats, yogurt, sweet rolls, fruit, tomato spread, juices, coffee, tea.
We took the airport bus to and from the hotel. It was a 15/20 walk up hill to the hotel and a 10 min walk down hill to the bus to the airport. Bus is 5 euros each way.
Good wi fi in the room. Furniture in the room is Ikea type. Only spanish TV.
We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Nice little hotel right in the centre of Madrid, many little bars all around, room was a little on the small side but was clean and tidy. Room didn't get a view but room was nice a quiet.

breakfast was good, nice tomato/oil paste on crispy bread, staff were kept busy cleaning up tables, and replacing food, toasting bread etc.

Me & my wife stayed here in August 2012 for 3 nights, we booked very late and got a really good price.
Hotel is very nicely decorated and furnished, and rooms have great air con, tv (no english channels), and a wall radio (which was great), also have a small drinks fridge which is really handy.
We also got a nice suprise to be given breakfast over the road in a neighbouring cafe, it is continental self service breakfast, good qulaity and very tasty, great for the days tourist activities.

Check in was a little complex as the woman at the desk spoke virtually no English but we got by.

Dont hesitate to book here if your looking for a good base for a tourist holiday.

P.S RE the location,
10/15 mins in a taxi from airport
4 stops in the underground from Madrid's main train station, and two minute walk from underground.
Tons of bars/eateries all near by (excellent spannish resteraunt (1st on left when walk out hotel).

Do not go to eat as much as you want buffet near Sol Square *horrible*

The location is really really perfect to visit the city and enjoy the night-life, however without being disturbed by noise. The (included) breakfast in the near cafe is good: it is not a real continental breakfast, but more a Spanish one with bread and fresh tomato / olive oil, a lot of fruits, yoghourt and croissants. The reception is not always open, but you can always ask or phone to the sister hotel (1 min walking). We needed a taxi at 4am, they have (of course) booked it for us, and the reception stayed open for us that night. One more, the hotel, the room and the street especially look much better in reality than in the photos on booking.
If I have to say something negative, the internet connection was only by lan. They could give you a cable, but it is not useful if yo have an iPhone or smartphone, when you are on holiday.

I spent there 4 days with my boyfriend. Everything was perfect. The room was small but really nice new powerful shower and helpful staff. Breakfast is served in another hotel. Very good position to visit the city. Plenty of nice restaurants and bar around..The area is a bit noisy during the night. i ll go back.
