The upstairs area was reserved for our party, which was as many as fifty people. The food was consistently excellent, an perhaps too generous! The slow cooked lamb's legs were like pork crackling, but the flesh was moist and delicious. Also excellent fried milk for dessert.

Right in the middle of the hottest tapas neighborhood, this restaurant has full entrees in addition to many really good starters. The house specialty is a 1/4 roasted lamb, slow roasted, really well seasoned. The lamb is served at one temperature, medium/well, yet really moist and fall-off-the-bone tender. Service was excellent, very knowledgeable, very attentive throughout the meal, and equally comfortable in English and Spanish.
The building itself is worth a walk around on your way in or out.

Roast 28 day old lamb in a huge wood burning oven dating to 1642! Simply amazing! We have been there twice, first in November 2012 and then 2 days ago. Everything was exactly as we remembered, even the same waiter, Javier. It is the kind of place that you dream about for an entire year when you know that you are going back! The garlic soup with egg, the roast potatoes, the roast mushrooms all wonderful. Even though the restaurant has a very large and superb wine list, the staff recommend the very inexpensive house red at 16.5 euros from a winery on the outskirts of Madrid toward Toledo, and it is simply delicious. It is not necessary to spend any more. The service is friendly, professional and very attentive without being overbearing. Can't wait to go back again!

A welcome change from the sameness of other Spanish and tapas restaurants. Wonderful food (garlic soup with egg, grilled mushrooms, and lamb), and wonderful service. At all other Spain restaurants, service was severely lacking, but at Posada they were fantastic, to match their food.

This wonderful restaurant was an old inn dating back to 1642 (they still use the same wood burning oven) that has been renovated to a restaurant specializing in suckling lamb. We were welcomed warmly when making reservations for the same evening and were equally warmly welcomed when we arrived. We watched the chef basting the lamb in the oven and were shown to our seats in a typical Spanish décor. Service was attentive and professional but not overbearing, ambience was warm and most importantly, the food was wonderful.
