We came across this near to where we were staying. It’s a great experience with food and bars all in one place and a handy supermarket on the ground floor. We didn’t try the food so can’t comment but it all looked delicious! We went for drinks at the rooftop bar. The decor was lovely with a good atmosphere. It gets very busy and we struggled to find a seat at first. The price of 4 drinks which included a pint of beer, wine and two sangrias was 17euros.

I went with my family and after a day touristing the city, we found this market that is nothing like the other popular markets in the city. Tourist don’t know about this place but they should! We ate in the fish stand next to the escalators in the first floor. We ordered oysters which were super fresh, the octopus and the paella which were both amazing as well, and lastly we were given a tuna tartar which incredibly good!!! After the food we went to the rooftop but were couldn’t stay longer, but hopefully next time I will go to get some drinks with that view!

Really enjoyed this place! 110% recommended!!!

We have watched Mercado San Miguel grow over the years. From a really nice market to a tourist trap nowadays. Therefore it is a pleasure to find Mercado de San Anton. Maybe a bit overpriced, but a whole lot better than San Miguel. Food was really nice.

This market was definitely less touristy compared to Mercado de San Miguel which seems way too over crowded and overpriced.
Pros: Not too overcrowded, small tables were available on Level 1. Some good finds in this market, I recommend a seafood place called ‘La Trastienda Tapas’ situated on Level one.
Cons: Options may be limited for some, a few places looked a bit shabby, most of the ones upstairs were fine.
