Madrid, city of culture, sophistication and wonderful, beautiful people.

If you want that - then do yourself a favour and go to the Bahia Taberna. I took my partner for his birthday dinner and was we were blown away. Yes, the taxi cost a little bit more than a small trip to the centre of town, but given the quality, quantity and extraordinary value, why worry about a few euros more??

We had the degustacion menu - a tasting menu - which was simply sublime. Two appetisers and then the most amazing experience, whereby the chef came out and introduced virtually all of the plates. The flavour, ambience and discourse was utterly superb. If there is something that you really don't like (in our case, prawns and mushrooms), then a pre-amble will ensure you don't get what you don't want.

Cool, chic, relaxed. If you want great taste, without the pretension, then seek out this first-class restaurant and bar. My thanks to Bea(trice) and all of the staff for making this the best dining experience I've had in many a year. When I emailed the restaurant from Scotland, I got a reply within seconds and a phone call not long after.

Customer service which is second to none, food to write home about (and try to emulate at home) and a real sense of being part of an extended family make this the idea stop in Madrid. Think tapas with a European twist, and you won't go far wrong. Banana bread topped with love and loveliness, monkfish which is far from being in the monastery and steak ravioli which reminds us (at least) of the lightest of steak pies. Oh, and desserts which have no equal.

Go. Enjoy. And go again.

You. Will. Love. It.

Muy muchas gracias Bea y Bahia. Mucho gusto y espero comer otra mas!!!

James and Christopher

When I walk into a restaurant I have not visited before, by the smells and the looks, I am usually able to predict what the experience will be. In this case, I was flat out wrong. The eating area has no more than 6 tables and it looks pretty uninteresting. However, the experience was wonderful. We went there for lunch and ordered the menu degustación, a total of 5 dishes between appetizers, entrees and desert. The winners were the pizza of chipirones (little calamari) and the ravioli of rabo de toro (bull's tail), but everything was delicious. The service was also very good. Perhaps the only thing that took away from the experience was the atmosphere of the dining area. The room is rather small and the kitchen is right next to it. I think that the atmosphere of the eating area is important to the overall enjoyment. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this restaurant and I will certainly go back.

We lucked out on this one. My fiance is staying in Madrid one block away. The service was top-notch, everyone was accommodating and welcoming. The food was standout in all respects. Avant garde technique and presentation frames classical Spanish dishes and ingredients for a fresh and exciting take on tapas, i.e. the roasted (as opposed to fried) patatas bravas served with an elegantly light foamed Sriracha aioli. Beer and wine selection is extensive and priced right. We will definitely be frequent visitors at Bahia Taberna.

We visited this restaurant after reading all the amazing reviews in trip advisor. It is indeed a very good place, with very tasty and original food and very good service. The choices were a bit limited and the menu small, but everything we are was very well presented and yummy. The chef served us our main dish and he did come out in the end to ask for our opinion.

It is a bit out of the way to get there, since it is in a neighborhood close to the airport with nothing much nearby, so your visit there must be planned on purpose.

All in all a very nice place, but I wouldn't drive again all the way there, just to eat there.

Having read the reviews, we decided we would make the effort to visit this restaurant on our first night in Madrid and boy was it worth it.To be truthful it was no effort at all..approx.25 minute metro and 10 minute walk from Gran Via.We really enjoyed the whole food and wine experience from beginning to end of the tasting menu.if we had travelled 2 hours and paid double the price we would still have been very pleased with our visit to Bahia Taberna. The premises is most unassuming, certainly not stuffy but perhaps a little too casual for the dining experience which unfolds before you. What a wonderful assault on the sense of taste to shake it up and show it what's out there if you take the time to research and visit places like this. The staff who prepare the food are at all times are in full view and they really watch closely in anticipation of a positive reaction when you taste their food.Staff are really attentive without crowding you out.wines are carefully chosen to compliment the various dishes.Really liked the banana bread with foie and the squid pizza.you've just got to visit this place!
