“A great tapa place.”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Spain is famous for tapas for a good reason and La Trucha is one good example. On a busy night one would be squisjed between people and scream the orders to the waiter. The waiter amazingly remembers all you order and inspite of the mayhem will give you the exact total after an hour. Coming to food, it is a good place to order all that is on the "parilla" (i.e. grill). In season their fresh vegetables are great. Try the asparagus, artichoke, eggplant in batter (maybe even squash I forget) etc.. Of course the bouquerones are great, andthe house wines are wonderful. You can choose to sit and eat restaurant style, however, our favorite always has been standing while doing tapeo...

“Amazing food”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

The location on a side street makes this a very charming location to enjoy dinner sitting outside. Seemed to also not be very touristy, which we like when we travel internationally. The service was very good and the food was exceptional. Every dish were ordered for a group of 8 was delicious. The pimientos padron are somewhat addicting. Could eat plates of them. Very enjoyable. Good wine selection too. We dine out very frequently throughout the world and we would recommend without hesitation.

“Spanish galore”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

Taking a cue from Tripadvisor, we went and search for this little restaurant. Knowing that the price will not be cheap, we started with some high expectations. With high expectations, the outcome was a lot of satisfaction as well.

Environment: Cosy, warm, and delightful. Well decorated.
Access: Easy to find.
Food: Awesome. One of the best we had in Spain. The pescado soup was great. Tapas was great. Main dish with the chicken was awesome. Selection of wine is good as well.
Service: Despite that we did not speak Spanish, the people here were very helpful. Great service.

Do not miss this if you are in Madrid.

“Good Tapa Stop”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

This is a good stop for a tapa crawl. We haven't had a "meal" here, just tapas, but our friends who live in Madrid say meals are awesome as well. Try to stand near the bar to watch the people and the staff, good entertainment.

“Tasty Food”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We've been going to this establishment for years. The food is always consistently good, although it has become rather pricy over the years. Service has always been great. Trout is delicious. Great portions of pimientos padron, calamari, artichokes, mixed platters etc. We love to hang at the bar and watch the food go by and try new things that look good. Not fancy, but good food.
