“Ok, better options available.”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

I ate here with a friend in October 2012. We decided to go on in a whim, while walking by and seeing how many locals were eating here.

The food was mediocre - I had the impression that they were skimping on our portions, which were considerably smaller than similar dishes for which I had paid less money at other restaurants. My friend ordered a veal steak but said that it was poorly cooked and came out much tougher than veal should be.

On top of that, the service was a little slow, but because it was a busy night perhaps that's understandable. On the positive side, we ate inside, which was very attractively decorated and nicer than sitting outside. That turned out to be the strong point of the place. I wouldn't go back, just because there are other places which are better.

“Beautiful relaxed lunch”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We visited this restaurant after a morning shopping. It is located close to Santa Ana Plaza. We sat outside and didn't worry about the extra charge. The starters we had were truly magical, a hard Spanish cheese (this was the half portion), peas with bacon and fried aubergines. We followed this with veal and chicken served with garlic potatoes and green peppers. Nice but not as outstanding as the starters had been. I wish we had been able to fit in a second visit.
It cost about 70 Euros and was the most expensive meal we had but well worth it.

“Mediocre food and service”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Nice little side street venue particularly if you sit outside - if you don't mind the odd beggar hassling you - or listening to a street Mariachi band playing in your ear while you're trying to have a conversation. Food was no better than mediocre and there are far better places in Madrid central. Wouldn't bother to go again.

“Nice enivronment, good food”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

This is a good restaurant in a busy section of town. If you sit outside, you pay one euro extra for everything you order...but sitting outside is very nice, if you splurge, because you get to see all the people outside. They don't have the "menu of the day", but they have nice selections on the menu. It is not a budget place, but the food is very good.
