We spent three nights at Hostal La Zona. Esteban made us feel very welcomed and gave us a lot of direction on what to see in Madrid. Upon arrival, we first thought our room would be too small but it really had all we needed. It was nice having a balcony overlooking the street. The location is great, a very short walk from Gran Via Metro station and close to Chueca. However on Friday night we did notice quite a bit of noise coming from the bar down the street.
It was nice to wake up, open your door and have breakfast waiting for you. Esteban prepares a selection of fruit, pastries, hot or cold cereal with coffee, tea, milk and juice. Staying here during the week is great but I would probably consider another hotel in a quieter section of the city on a weekend getaway.More
