“Would definitely recommend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

We stayed at the Vienna suites for 3 nights jan 2013. From arrival to leaving staff were lovely. We had a room without a view but it was very quiet - so wasn't a problem. In an ideal position with the plaza espana (and metro) just around the corner, we would chose to stay here again. Rooms are really nice and very comfortable (there was three of us - still plenty of space) only a half bath though! You need to get the utensils from reception - not a problem they brought them within a few minutes.

The hotel is situated on Juan Alvarez Mendizabal street which is one of the streets that starts from Plaza Espana-heading The royal Palace you need to follow the direction for Museo Cerralbo. Walking 5-7 minutes.Plaza Espana is easy to reach by metro from the airport- need to buy combined ticket from the cashier or from the ticket machine-4.90 euro: taking the line 8 (Barajas Aeroporto- Nuevos Ministerios) and then line 8 to Espana (the 4th).
I had the room without breakfast- the room has a small kitchen which will be equiped by the staff with coffee/tea maker and all you need. Room and bathroom are big enough. Seif provided in the room- free acces. Also Wi-fi- password you have to ask at the reception.
The front rooms are facing a school and the street, the others are without a view ( acourtyard) but keeps you away from the street noises-not so loud but for those with problems sleeping good to know.
Near the hotel you cand find some markets: the closest one is 2 minutes away-going up on the street and first on the right and at th end of it the corner is the market. The second one going down from that corner- Dia Market.
There is an option to eat at the hotel if you order -the reception stuff will give the information.
The stuff at the reception is very friendly- they provide you information and you can ask for direction- free maps provided.
Places to visit are worth to be reached by walking-this way you can admire the building of the old Madrid. Close is The Royal Palace (10 euro), Almuleda cathedral (free), Plaza mayor where you can find Mercado de san Miguel- you can eat and taste a lot of specialities.
Also close to the hotel many restaurants, for eating is god to know that dinner starts after 9-9.30 pm and for lunch starting from noon menu of the day is the best option (9-15 euro depends of the place). Excellent food you will find in El Jamon de Gran Via located on Gran Via no 59 on the right side as you go up to the Callao metro station- no more than 10 minutes walking.

Room Tip: more quite rooms facing the back, you can choose to have breakfast included or not. Everything you n...

Nothing bad to be said about this hotel. It may not look like the greatest location when you walk through the streets to get there, but the hotel is immaculate, the staff are friendly, and its within a 5 - 10 min walk to the underground train station Plaza de Espana.

Its within walking distance of the famous Gran Via road and the Royal Palace.

This was a great apartment very close to the centre of Madrid - all of the city's attractions were within a half-hour walk, and the Plaza Espana Metro stop was also five minutes away. The apartment itself was spacious and well-maintained. The bathroom was a decent size and we appreciated that there was a TV speaker in there. The kitchenette came in very handy given there was a supermarket just around the corner, however some more kitchen utensils such as cooking pans and knives would have been helpful, as we found ourselves constantly washing and re-washing the same utensils while preparing meals.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. The hotel is situated about a 5 minute walk from the Grand Via(main shopping area), so an amazing location. On arrival all staff were really helpful and couldn't do enough to help us. We had booked a double room, the room was large and airy with a good sized kitchen area...you need to ask for the kitchen equipment but it was quickly brought to us. The bathroom isn't large but it has a bath and shower which was a real treat as most modern hotels now only offer a shower. The only downside of the room was that the wi fi, connection was very poor, perhaps it should not be advertised as having wi fi.

We chose to have breakfast, which only cost 15 euros for 2 of us, really good choice of food, a few hot food and a large selection of meats and cakes.

Overall a great hotel and would recommend it to anyone wanting a city break.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as the front rooms face a school.

We had a very good experience at this apart hotel. Rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. Maids did an excellent job on daily basis preparing our room. Staff at reception were helpful and friendly. We didn't eat at the hotel but viewed the room service menu which had a good selection at affordable prices. Wifi signal was not strong and there is no iron in the room, the hotel will not supply one either so take travel iron if needed. Location was very peaceful for a good nights sleep, 5 mins walk to plaza espana and metro station. We walked from the hotel to attractions: temple de Debod is 5 mins, palace in 10 mins, plaza mayor and puerto del sol is 20 mins. We would recommend walking to take in this beautiful city, a good way to sample the local bars and tapas along the way.

Room Tip: We recommend a junior suite on street side of hotel. Street is quiet so no issue with noise and the...

I arrive at this hotel in the night (almost midnight and get lost for about half an hour) but I found that the staff was very kind, helpfull, polite and speak English fluently. The room was spacious, clean and nicely designed. There were safe deposit, kitchen set with electric stove and microwave, flat TV and off course free wifi. The breakfast was nice and simple (we got discount for breakfast). The hotel location was not far from subway stations (there're two) and only 5 minutes walk to Gran Via. The last but not the least the price was very reasonable.
