location is great, amazing bourgeois bulding in front of the Opera house, walking distance to every interesting point.
silent rooms (double glass panels), excellent beds, original and warm decoration, nice welcoming with good restaurant tips...
simple complimentary breakfast served in the lovely living room full of light.
what else shall i say?
go!

We stayed here twice and I hope do come back. This boutique hotel is so cozy and quiet, so well decorated it has the ability to take you to another place. The hotel was an ancient building renovated by an architect decorator related to the royal palace, it use to be a military facility.
I have been in the suite, the blue room ans the spanish. I didn´t like the spanish, just because it is too serious and dark for me, I loved the blue one, make me feel like a XIX century woman and the suite is just amazing, lot's of space a mini pool, perfect to pamper your self.
The issue of choosing a room is very important here, because if you pick one that is not your type you probably ruin your experience. There are a couple of cheaper rooms, that was no particular decoration and I consider to expensive for what they offer, if you want to stay here and can´t afford the most expensive rooms, I recommend less days choosing a thematic room.
You have a beautiful and classic leaving room were you can ear some quiet songs while having your delicious breakfast. They serve it in silver kettle and ceramic plates, all very charming. The quantities are not big, but enough.
The service is very nice and very discrete, so you really feel that there are no one disturbing you.

I was lucky enough to spend a night at Casa de Madrid in January 2011 - all I can say is, one night was not enough!

Located right next to the Opera house and Royal Palace (Opera station is just seconds away) on the 2nd floor of an 18th-century building, this is the perfect, aristocratic hideaway. From the moment you enter to the moment you leave, the staff treat you like family, graciously welcoming you into their home and ushering you to your room.

Each of the seven rooms are decorated with a different theme, full of ornate mouldings and hand-painted murals. I stayed in the Indian room, which had a large King-sized bed and a vintage writing desk lined with travel books - it felt just like being at home. (A very posh home, of course!)

Since this is not a large franchise hotel, it has limited amenities but the staff are willing to go out of their way to make sure that your stay is comfortable. With enough advanced notice, they will be able to prepare everything from wine tastings to cultural trips for you.

Everything about the hotel was a study in the fine art of luxury -- without a doubt, one of the best hotels in Madrid.

I'm somewhat reluctant to review this wonderful boutique hotel, for fear I will never get a room there again once their secret is well and truly out! From the moment we stepped into the peaceful confines of this beautifully kept townhouse (which is also a private residence) laden with antiques and treasures the owner has thoughtfully collected and displayed, I was smitten. We were given a warm and friendly reception by Sophia who could not do enough to help us, recommending restaurants, booking taxis etc. Rooms are ornately and individually decorated, the well stocked library and complimentary wine are lovely touches and you truly feel it is a home from home. I spent a wonderful couple of hours enjoying tea and reading in the drawing room which looks out over the opera house and into the main square below... I would go back in a heartbeat..

Mrs JT and I stayed here recently and just loved the place. We have been to Madrid a few times and usually stay in the same hotel. But it was not available so after a quick search on TripAdvisor we were delighted to find Casa de Madrid. It is in a great location, right alongside the Opera house. But I agree with some others, it is a bit hard to find as the only sign is on the doorbell, so maybe they could do something to improve this. But once inside, it was wonderful. We stayed in the Leaf Room and had all that end of the house to ourselves, along with a lovely library area. The room is luxurious and you even have robes & candles. They served us afternoon tea and there was a complimentary bottle of wine too. It is not cheap but we enjoyed seeing the inside of one of these wonderful old Madrid casas.

Once a guest has booked we try to email them a reservation confirmation letter which contains photos and directions to help them more easily find Casa de Madrid. We apologise if you didn't receive this. Sometimes, if the reservation is made through a travel agency we aren't given the guest's email details in advance. We admit that Casa de Madrid is a little hidden away (it's part of the charm!) - it is more like a luxury private residence or guest house and so we don't have conspicuous street signage. Many thanks for your kind and helpful comments.

Stayed here for two nights in November to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arranged collection from the airport via the hotel and our driver was excellent. Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful with the luggage (we booked him to take us back for our return flight). It was also helpful to have him as you might not find the hotel otherwise - it is quite hidden, but that is part of it's charm.

The welcome was lovely, cava and iberico ham, almonds, and water in our room - and we had been given a larger room as it was available - the Indian Room. This was quite spacious, and had everything you would expect (save no english speaking TV channels). The mini bar was well stocked - and there was an honour bar in the lounge, along with complimentary afternoon tea and cake.

Anna on reception was especially welcoming and helped with changing dinner reservations, directions and online check in. Ivan, and Maria, were also very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was served in the lounge and the warm croissants were a winner!

The location is great, close to many major sights, specifically the Palace and the Opera House and the beautiful Old Town. You do get some street noise at night - and so they do provide ear plugs if you find this a problem. We would stay there again and ask for a room facing away from the main street.

Overall a lovely place to spend a weekend in Madrid and we would recommend it.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Casa de Madrid- a very unique, private guest house well-situated within walking distance of many restaurants and sites in Central Madrid. Ivan, who runs the front desk, was extremely helpful- full of energy, enthusiasm, and excellent recommendations about places to eat and things to do. The guest rooms are eclectic and each is decorated very differently, extensively, and comfortably. The leaf room in the back is the quietest. We also tried the Spanish room which has lovely paintings, decor, and large windows, but it's closer to the plaza and therefore a bit noisier. A simple breakfast of juice, coffee/tea, fresh croissants and toast in the spacious, common living room was lovely each morning served on a silver tray! The library was also a wonderful common area for relaxing. If you don't need a large hotel experience with lots of large hotel amenities, and a private, unique, guest-centric visit to an intimate, beautiful town home is enticing, Casa de Madrid is an excellent option!
