“At the cusp of the old and the new city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

This hotel has a great location with almost every tourist attraction within 15 to 20 minutes of walking (fine, make that brisk walking!)

The rooms are large and well maintained for a heritage building. The beds are extraordinarily large and comfortable. And the double windows do a great job of keeping the noise out.

Like any other four star property in Europe, do not expect too much by the way of amenities. And, since this property is surrounded by buildings on all four sides, do not expect much of the view!

Special call outs to Alex, the bartender for being such fun. You made us want to order a drink at the hotel bar ... something I would normally not do, with so many great drinking places nearby.

And a special call out also to Vanessa at the front desk for being a great help with a cheerful smile. She is your lady to help navigate the city, specially if you are a first-timer.

I regularly stay at the Las Cortes on business and every time the service is first class, the rooms are spacious and the beds always comfy. It also seems that each time I visit I keep getting a better room with more windows.

In addition a short walk and your in place de santa ana which is great for an evening drink.

Room Tip: Not one over the smoking area

We spent 3 nights in Madrid and highly recommend this hotel. It is a great base from which to see the city. The location is just right, next to the Old Town yet an easy walk to all the main museums. The rooms were also excellent - clean, spacious, modern, and, very importantly to us, completely quiet. Breakfasts were consistently delicious and plentiful. (The coffee was terrific!) Finally there was the staff - always friendly and helpful. Esther in particular was a gem. All her restaurant recommendations (and the directions to get there) were perfect. She really helped make our stay in Madrid so enjoyable. Please say hello to her for us if you decide to stay at this lovely hotel.

Great hotel in an amazing location just off Plaza Santa Ana. Room was a little small but this wasn't an issue for us.Large bathroom, good storage. I didn;t find the pillow comfortable and there was no spares in the room - this was the only fault.

Dear guest,

We agree with your perception about the hotel location. In fact, that was the main reason why our Company made the decision of buying the beautiful XVIII century palace where the hotel is located. The location was the best possible one in Madrid: , next to Plaza Santa Ana, a few blocks away from Plaza Mayor, 5 minutes walking from the Parliament...
Thank you very much for your kind review. Do not hesitate to contact us in your next trip to Madrid. Best regards.

I couldn't wait to get home after our trip to rave about this hotel. This was our first time in Madrid and we fell in love with the city. We stayed for 3 nights from August 28 - September 1, 2013. I found this gem through Trip Advisor and I haven't yet been steered wrong. First the hotel: very neat and clean with nice, modern, up-to-date rooms. If I could have taken the bathroom home with me I would have! From the front desk to the bartender to the assistant manager everyone was delightful. We especially enjoyed Esther. They don't have ice available but when I asked, I was brought a bucket full. This was in a great location right off Santa Ana Plaza. Loved the restaurants nearby (other reviews). This is the place to be when you visit Madrid.

We spent just one night here but were delighted with the hotel . The staff at reception were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were very nice, great showers and it was quiet at night. The air-con wasn't the best but adequate. Excellent location and lots of bars and restaurants a short walk away

My husband & I have just returned from a 4 day trip to Madrid, which was wonderful. We stayed at this hotel which was a gem. The room was lovely, very comfortable, light & bright. The bathroom was fantastic; along with a bath with shower over, there was also a large separate shower, with 2 separate shower heads! We needed to use the air-conditioning, but it was so quiet I hardly knew it was switched on. All the staff we talked to we're extremely friendly & helpful. We visited many of the sights & found the hotel to be in an ideal location. Even though there are many bars & restaurants nearby, it was very quiet & we didn't notice any traffic noise. So, when we revisit Madrid, which we will, we will definitely use this hotel again.

Dear guest,

Once you have been in the hotel, we are pretty sure you understand the reason why our Company decided to buy this beautiful palace some years ago. The ancient palace of the Duke of Noblejas (one of the founders of the Madrid Athenaeum, also located in Prado Street, and member of the national Parliament) is situated in the heart of the city, only a few minutes walking from Plaza Mayor and the National Congress. As you can imagine, we feel very proud of giving our guests the occasion of staying in this absolutely remarkable building. I am glad to know that you enjoyed it so much. Thank you very much for your kind review. Best regards from Madrid.
