Last year I was in Madrid for work and tried at the last minute to get a seat to the opera--sadly they were sold out. But I did manage to join a tour of the opera house, which was lovely. Although it was in Spanish, I didn't mind because the interior of the house was so gorgeous. Hope to return to see an opera.

My title sums it up rather nicely. To be honest it screams more English garden than anything Orientel. It's nicely maintained and there are a lot of statues of I'm assuming historically significant men. It's quaint and relaxing but there aren't alot of trees (except around the playground) so probably not the best place to be at noon. You can walk through here to get to the opera house from the Palace.

With gardens and statues this plaza is a bit different than most in Madrid. It is lovely, but there are other gardens throughout the city that are more extensive and other plazas that are much better overall....

This area is in front of the Royal Palace of Madrid. It is a great place to walk around and see some very nice sculptured statues. I found walking around was great for taking pictures. Not only of the lush plaza, but also the palace from the outside.
