Not a large market, but we had delicious tapas at a place on the lower level, back in the corner. Maybe not worth a special visit, but definitely stop in here if you find yourself in the area.

Food quality is good, but you can find the same quality and quantity just going upstairs at less than half the price. Waiter is very pushy suggesting options without mentioning the price. A single tomato salad (just a tomato!) is 9€!

This place is not very easy to find, so you will be surrounded by locale instemde of tourists. The tapas were good and the waiters were friendly and so helpful.

Popped in for a drink as we were at the market however we decided to have something to eat. We had a lovely kebab type thing with peppers and onions hanging on a skewer served with chips and pardon peppers. Very tasty. Excellent service and a lovely place too. Will go back.

We ended up at Mercado San Anton in Chueca late lunchtime. We had one round of tapas upstairs then came down to this place, settled at the bar and had an excellent selection of croquettes and a glass of rosé for not a lot. It's visually very attractive (see photo) and our waiter was friendly and unusually fluent in English. But beware the shell in the mussels croquettes...
