We stayed here for 4 nights as we went to a Laura Pausini concert. The room was extremely quiet(yes we were in Madrid??), it was clean and well presented. All the hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially Virginia and Roberto....thank you both!!!

We had a great four days and the Catalonia Goya made it even better!!! My only negative comment is that I found the bar prices a little steep....but hey ho this is Madrid.

Room Tip: Ask for a courtyard inside room. We were in 602.

Room was spacious and comfortable, Bathroom very nice, TV and mini Bar.
There is a Bar, with a computer for internet access (more of that later), and a restaurant/breakfast room. I took the Breakfast every morning at 8 euros a head. They can cook something for you too, if you ask. They have a healthy range of buffet style selections.

The staff bent over backwards for me. I had some trouble with the hotel Wi-fi. It either did not work, or was very difficult to log onto for 2 days, then on my last day it worked !

The nearest Metro is Velazquez, come out of the hotel and turn right, and it is maybe 50-100 yards away. I had no street noise, sleep quality was excellent. I noted the safe key was missing, but I had no requirement for valuables storage.

There is a friendly Tapas bar about 50 yards to the left as you leave hotel.

Room Tip: Well no preference really, just from personal experience, always book a double, whether travelling S...

This boutique hotel was more than I had hoped it would be. Great location, lovely room, very reasonable prices for bar and restaurant plus FABULOUS reception and staff. Virginia was incredible and went out of her way to locate several blouses left behind by one of my friends.

Room Tip: Go out of your way to stay at this hotel. You will miss this gem unless you look for it!!

We have used this hotel several times, its reliably good and very well located. The room rate falls as you get near to the booking date so follow it on line 70 Euro was about right for a nice double room. Have not tried the breakfast as there are sevaral good placed nearby where between 5 and 8 Euro will get you a traditional breakfast. Located very near a metro stop and within walking distance of a fine park. Also in a fashionably busy neighbourhood. Only minus points are slightly flaky free wifi and limited tv channnels, but you dont come to watch tv and chack your phone.

Room Tip: If you want quiet and can do without the view go for a room that faces into the courtyard/light well

Stayed here for a Real Madrid game. Good location, metro station only 2minute walk away, Velazquez. Nice hotel, staff friendly but language can be minor obstacle at times. Would like more English speaking channels on tv. The safe in room required €20 deposit, should be complimentary feel. Safe could be opened when locked, be careful. Reported it to staff and was told it happens in all rooms or they couldn't give a damn. Went out on Sunday morning, came back to find door of room left open by cleaners, thank god everything was still there. Staff apologised and said they'd report it to manager. Also the room and hotel did not have wall socket to suit uk/Irish appliances, had to go to electrical shop to charge phone, I pad etc. would look around elsewhere before booing back here again going on my experience.

Good morning. Appreciate you used your time to evaluate your stay with us, scoring top marks in concepts of location, sleep quality, service and cleanliness.

In relation to the safe, it is a free service where you must leave a deposit which is returned upon departure. The UK plug adapter type is an element that we understand should travel with the client and the hotel can provide one loan or tell you the closest place to buy it.

Take this opportunity to send my cordial greetings.

We travelled to Madrid, our first stopover, joining a tour group that would walk the Camino. We were exhausted from an overnight flight and were hoping to check into our room. Unfortunately it was not ready. The location of the hotel is excellent in the heart of Madrid close to Calle Serrano and in the centre of the Salamanca District. There are numerous stores and restaurants in close proximity. The architecture of some of the buildings is beautiful. The airport is about 10km from the hotel.

We had lunch at a nearby coffee shop, a chicken sandwich, donut and coffee for 7 euro. Our room was ready with an hour and a half. Nicely appointed modern style king bed, modern bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant in the lower level where we had dinner and breakfast the next morning. The food and service were wonderful. I would definitely stay here again. Madrid is an absolutely beautiful, clean city with many historic places to visit including the Almudena Cathedral, Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Calle de Alcala, Gran Via and Market of San Miguel and so many more sights too numerous to mention. My wife and I only wish we could have spent more time in Madrid and at the Hotel Catalonia Goya.
