We stayed here for 5 days and four nights. Very helpful staff, great location near Teatro Real and the Royal Palace.
Amenities were average. Wifi was EXTREMELY slow and the desktop computer in the lobby area was worse. Lowest shower pressure we had in Europe which was a problem when traveling with two long-haired girls. Room was nicely appointed and clean. Very quiet and good cleaning service.

Fit the family of four without two rooms which was nice.

We stayed in the Meninas Dec 2011. Lovely shabby chic style rooms, and yes they are not massive but they did not feel pokey like some hotels i have stayed in Paris or Spain, it was modern and clean, with 2 comfy beds, and a spacious bathroom. Little balcony overlooking the quite street was a great addition to our room.
The breakfast was amazing catering for every nationality, fresh muffins, croissants, doughnuts, pastries, cakes, fresh fruits, various cereals, fresh cold sliced meats, cheeses, range of breads, yogurts, various juices, various teas and coffees, hot food including sausages, eggs - scrambled and boiled, bacon, toasts, hot tomatoes, churros, hot chocolate.....the list goes on. It caters for all. You dont need a lunch if you fill up in the morning :)
Great location too, set in an off street so not noisy.
Staff were great and overall this was a great find, so would definately return to this hotel if i visit Madrid again, and would highly recommend it to anyone.

As I was solo, I booked room 'mini', but it seemed to be tiny even. I could hardly imagine how 2 people can live in such space. All Paris hotels are very large I should say-)
So, the room was very-very tiny, without any view (to the small inner yard), and it was pretty dark through all the day.
Secondly, it was alwfully noisy. When someone was walking down the corridor, it was loud, when somebody spoke in the corridor, I could hear every single word, as the person was just near me. So, late at night or early in the morning I couldn't sleep at all.
Thirdly, no wifi in the rooms, only at the reception area (only ADSL connection in the rooms - who needs it with Apple), which is inconvenient. For 2 days there was no wifi, so no good at all.

At the same time I have to mention that the location is perfect, very close to Real palace, Opera metro station, Plaza del Sol. The staff was very-very friendly, and they always tried to help. Breakfasts are also very good.

As a conclusion, if you do not need wifi, and if you take a big room, it could be really good place to stay in Madrid.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for having taken the time to comment on your recent stay at Boutique Hotel Meninas.

Meninas Hotel is a four star hotel with all the correct measurements of the rooms. Therefore, the client has different room types, from single room with a bed, through the mini with double bed 1.35 m to the standard double room and junior suite and junior suite with king size bed special. We have interior rooms with views to the nice patio, and exterior rooms with a balcony.

Wifi is actually in the hotel lobby, where guests can have a space where you can enjoy it. for a month, we are implementing the wifi in the rooms. We can say that half of the rooms come with free wifi.

Fantastic location next to the main attractions of old town Madrid.
A quiet hotel with not too many rooms.
The rooms themselves are quite pokey although well-equipped and clean.
The beds were very comfortable.
The only drawback was a slightly offhand service that we received when taking breakfast. The dining room itself is in the basement and is attended by one waitress who would not have the courtesy to say good morning.
The cutlery was chipped and Buffy that was offered was extremely average for the €15 Charged.
Having said that the hotel offered exceptional value in a fantastic location and we only stayed for two nights.

Spent 4 night here in late October, the location is an excellent base to see all of Madrid. The area felt safe andhad attractive period buildings all around. We had a room front the small street, this was generally quite, Madrid seems to like to party late, but this hotel is away from all night bars etc. We had some minor noise when the daily collect of rubbish took place or the occassional reveller past by. The room was to a very high standard, comfortable, particularly the bed. The hotel is a small boutique hotel, it has a breakfast room serving a good breakfast and a good quite lounge area for tea and coffee etc. The surrounding area has lots of good restaurants.
Great Hotel, Madrid is worth a long weekend break

We stayed in September 2012. The Hotel Meninas is less than a block from the Opera Metro station located on a side street.

Fernando greeted us upon arrival and helped us with our bags. We were given Room 203 overlooking the street. A hostal was directly across the street and next to it, a Roommate Hotel. This room is very nice, but It can get a little noisy late at night.

The hotel has been completely renovated with a modern contemporary look. Our room had dark wood floors, a completely updated bath, and a very up to date and quiet AC.

Breakfast was fantastic; great eggs, meats, pastries and self-serve mimosas!

There are nice original touches throughout the hotel; the staircase looks original with worn and uneven oak treads, which lends to its charm. There are alcoves with artwork and lights throughout. The staff are very nice and very helpful.

Great location just off the Opera Metro. We would stay here again!!
