We have seen this musical and keep impressed, good start an quality of actors. On the opposite opinion we think the seats are too much compressed and drinks are very expensive.

Excellent. We went during our vacation and without knowing Spanish but it was still wonderful. If you have seen the show before in another country, this is basically the same but in a different language. You should book in advance as tickets go out fast.

The only downside i can mention is that, during the online reservation it was not obvious that we were booking seats on the 2nd floor (there are 3) as the seating plan of the whole theater is shown as one. I would also have to say that one of the seats we booked, offered limited visibility in compared to the other similar priced seats. Canteen is wayyy overpriced...€7.50 for a popcorn and €5 for a small "sandwich".

OK, I love the story, and my cat is named "Simba." My daughter and I went on her last night in Spain before she moved to the US. Our Spanish is pretty good, but as others have pointed out, it doesn't really matter except for the fact that there are quite a few "inside jokes" that require a knowledge of castellans for true comprehension. The acting, costumes, lighting, and particularly, the music are superb. I've seen the play in three other cities, and this show is comparable to the London and New York versions. In some ways, it was better: the music was absolutely captivating, and Lope de Vega theatre is amenable to upfront and personal acting. On several occasions, the actors entered the stage by steps on either side bringing the characters very, very close to the audience. I don't know if this performance was officially sold out since I had bought the tickets long before, but there were no obvious open seats on that Thursday night. This play and a before or after meal at a close by restaurant are great ways to pass an evening in this wonderful city.

This was the highlight of our 3 nights in Madrid. My wife and I do not speak Spanish, but with the music and costumes we didn't need to. I would definitely recommend watching the movie before going as a refresher, but this should be the first thing you book in Madrid.
