We stayed here for 2 nights and found it to a very clean and comfortable hotel with good facilities.
although out of the center of Madrid, the easy to use metro is just around the corner. There are also some nice little restaurants nearby. It is worth seeing the Spanish morning culture at a little cafe just outside the station.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast more than adequate. Good Wifi.

Thanks for your opinion. The bus number 45, just in the square beside de Hotel, it,s the real culture bus. It has stops in Atocha (Museo Reina Sofia) in five minutes, and in The Prado, ten minutes no more. If you continues the trip five minutes more, would arrives in Colon Square, where the Wax Museum its located.

We stayed here as part of an Intrepid trip, for 7 nights in the beginning of May. While the hotel is out of the centre of Madrid a bit, the Legazpi Metro station is around the corner and it's only 4 or 5 stops to the Sol Metro station in the centre of the city, so no real problem. The Metro is simple to use.
A very good 3 star hotel - good size room (facing the street, but windows blocked out most of the noise), with air con, safe, fridge (minor negative was that the fridge went off when the door card was withdrawn from the electricity slot), a very comfortable bed, small but functional bathroom, very good buffet breakfast and friendly, helpful staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room.
There are restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel, as well as supermarkets. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Our group all had rooms facing the street and noise was not a problem.

We are so thankfully for your opinion. Any weeks many Intrepid groups spend one night in our hotel. They take a look Madrid and flight to Marraquech, Lisbon o Barcelona the next day.

I only stayed here one night with a tour group but the room was very nice, new furniture, good bathroom and clean. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. No computer terminal, just wifi. It is only a short walk away from the metro that takes you straight into the center, only a few stops.

I am happy with our room at this hotel. My adult son and I are sharing a twin room on the night prior to our Intrepid tour starting. The room is clean, freshly painted and spacious with an opening window. The bathroom is nice, clean and spacious, ours even has a bidet! There is an on-site cafe for breakfast and a nice lobby with couches etc. The location itself isn't ideal, there don't seem to be many options for eating out , however I am comparing this to Puerto del Sol where there is at least one cafe on every corner. The metro station is just 30 metres away and it will cost you just 1,50 EURO and 10 mins of your time to get to Sol.

Thanks for your opinion! We are so grateful. But, Why don,t you ask in the front desk about a restaurant? Promise, we have many kind of restauraurants around us. In front of Matadero (the modern scenic area of Madrid) you can find five in the same square!! They are not tipicals, but fines.

Our room was not large but was adequate. Decor is shabby and could use a serious update. Of the seven rooms in my travel party, ours was the only room that didn't smell like cigarettes and sewage.

Hotel has in-room safes and free, fast WiFi in rooms - excellent! Flat screen TV is nice.

Bathrooms are large with hairdryer, wall-mounted magnifying mirror, and no noisy fan. Shower only (no bathtub, for those who care); triangular corner shower is rather small.

Only one power outlet in the room.

Hello, thanks for your opinion first. We usually have a problem with the sewage in the first part of the spring in our area, cause the city pipes have been dry in winter, not during many days. we are tryng to resolve it, and we apologize.
I repeat express my gratitude for your opinion.

This is a reasonable hotel. It's tired yes but it's ok. If noise is a problem ask to be put on the back of the hotel. Rooms are simple and clean. The breakfast is basic to say the least with typical Spanish coffee, you will certainly be awake after a cup! The internet is a bit on the slow side but works and is free. As far as price goes it's excellent value. Few min walk from the metro, you can be in central Madrid in about 15min

The Hotel Gran Legazpi was the starting point for a tour with Intrepid. It is satisfactory for that purpose, but may be a bit far out if you are travelling by yourself - about 5 stops from Sol. However, it is only about half a block from the Legazpi stop. The rooms were fine, self contained, clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very basic. I don't know the cost as it was included in the package.

Thanks for your opinion. As you see in other comments the time to arrive in the center it,s about 15 minutes, 5 stops in metro. We don,t think it,s a long way, but it always depends of your distance sense.

Thanks for all, we hope enjoy the Intrepid,s travellers for many time!!
