“Evening people watching at its best”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

This is a beautiful Plaza and it was filled with people. There was also a market going on so there was shopping if we were interested. The only drawback is that it was hard to see some of the fountains as the market stalls were blocking our view

“On the way to: somewhere”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Plaza de España is a reference in the center of Madrid. Nothing really special just to go for, even though you find the sculptures of Don Quijote and Sancho Panza which is a stop for a photograph. It is near the Royal Palace in Madrid and the Almudena but it all depends where you are going or coming from.

“OK, nothing special.”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Nice visual break from the crowded commercial area, but not a place I would spend alot of time in. Nice to walk through on the way to and from Palacio Real, Templo De Debod and Gran Via.

“Enjoyable Square”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

I always like to pass the Plaza de España when I am in Madrid. I enjoy seeing the two skyscrapers there, as well as the monument to Cervantes. I think the sculptures at this monument are very good works of art.

“Didn't like the area”
Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in a hotel around 0.5 miles from Plaza Espana.. So we passed this square on our way while walking towards Palacio Real. The statue of Don Quixote was good, but you don't have to see this plaza unless you are passing through.. Not many tourists, was mostly filled with locals. I also saw some homeless people walking about. Overall average experience
