“The good basic!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

I was not fan of my room who was with a view on the very noisy Gran Via and of course the isolation in Madrid is not an issue! The room was nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable, although it moved very easily as it was on wheels. Lucky me that I was alone in that moving bed, so it didn't borther much, although I can imagine... :-)
The breakfast is basic, but fresh and good. You can always ask for eggs and bacon as they are not presented. 15€, as in most hotels, is rather expensive. But there are solutions on the menu between 5€ and 10€ for a cup of coffee, oranje juice and pastry Churros for example. Certainly worth to be tried for the price difference.

Me and my wife travelled to Madrid in the end of August 2013. We had a great time in Hotel de Las Letras, the location is very good and the hotel is good value for money. Our first night we tried to buy tickets online for a Real Madrid-game, so I decided to bring my iPad to the front-desk where I met employee Javier. He was very helpful and ended up calling a guy he knew to see if he could help us out. Long story short, we got AMAZING seats at the stadium DELIVERED to our hotel the night after and had a GREAT TIME at the game!! Lot's of other things to do in Madrid, see the Royal Palace, visit the Prado Museum and rent a boat on the Parque del Retiro lake. This was a great trip.

Thank you again Hotel de Las Letras, we will definately return and recommend this hotel. :)

The room we stayed in had a terrace and a jacuzzi, it was very big and the bed was extremely comfy. The location was perfect, we literally did every single thing on foot (except the trip to San Lorenzo). Great experience.

The hotel is well located near many attractions but there is a pub on the top floor and the loud music plays all day and night!
If you want to relax and rest , don't choose this hotel
The breakfast is poor and dull , not worth the money

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during August in the summer holidays... I lived in Madrid before and chose it because the location is just perfect, walking distance to everything you may want to see and do, and also because we got a really attractive rate of 69 eur per night with breakfast included... I was not expecting much but was really blown away by the hotel...

The guys at reception are professional but not overly warm or fussy, but it is ok...

Our room was big, modern, clean, comfortable with enough storage space and a gorgeous view overlooking Gran Via... despite what other reviewers have mentioned, We did not hear any noise at night...

The double bed was actually 2 single beds pushed together but this did not bother us... we also had a little reading area and the bathroom was really big, separated by a door and a sliding door, hence plenty of privacy...

Bed, bedding and pillows were top quality and loved the overall design concept of the property... it felt warm and stylish at the same time...

Breakfast was the highlight of the day, with great variety and good service...

Overall an amazing experience and recommending it to anyone visiting wonderful Madrid...

Room Tip: We had a room facing Gran Via, which is great, but some people may find it noisy... we had no compla...

The Hotel De Las Letras in Madrid surpassed our expectations. The breakfast buffets were great, the tasting dinner was outstanding and they catered it to our eating needs, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was large and comfortable and we had a terrace with a view.. The location was centrally located to all the main tourist sites. We were able to walk everywhere. The summer special gave us one night free in effect making our room only $110/night (which also included the breakfasts, the tasting dinner, a welcome drink at the bar, and in our room, bottled water, truffles and a bottle of wine). We felt extremely pampered.
