This was a really wonderful hotel in an area that could have been really unpleasant, The Gran Via street. The location is very central to most of the sites, neighborhoods etc. that we visited but it’s a very major street which I imagine is noisy at certain times of day/year. The staff was nice, our room was spatious and well designed however. The only things I wish were improved were that the WiFi was fairly bad and the mattresses, like all mattresses we experienced in Spain, were extremely hard. All in all, a very good value and an improbably good hotel in a location where it could easily be unpleasant. Highly recommend this one.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor, away from the street.

We took our niece to Spain for her 16th birthday and ended our trip with two nights at the Hotel de las Letras. We loved the hotel especially because thanks to an AMEX booking perk we were upgraded to huge rooms with private terraces. It is a great location close to the major sites and Metro, which was good as we had a short time in Madrid. Alex at the front desk was very helpful and steered us to the Mercado San Anton and it's great restaurant for our final dinner in Spain. I would say this it isn't a great "young" family hotel as it is a bit too hip but our niece loved it. The noise was a bit of a factor on the weekend as we did have the terrace doors open however when closed you could still hear some street noise. The breakfast was quite reasonable and tasty. We did have a nice dinner there as well. The large downstairs bar area and the rooftop terrace are lovely places to have a drink especially with their "large” pours and friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want quiet I would steer away from a street facing but noise level is not terrible. Vheck for AMEX upgrades.

The hotel is beautiful and stylish, and conveniently situated right on gran via. I had a wonderful room on the 5th floor overlooking gran via. i had a spacious room with a small couch, bench, tall windows with floor to ceiling drapes. the bathroom was huge too and very well equipped with everything i needed. i would go back next time for sure.

Stayed in the hotel for 4 nights last week, beautiful rooms, clean bathroom, nice bed linen, rooms cleaned every day. Staff were very friendly and offered us maps of the area and advice on where to see. WIthin walking distance of everything, situated on the main street of Madrid. Would definitely return. We didnt eat or drink in the hotel as prices seemed expensive however this is to be expected of a city such as Madrid.

This is a very nice hotel: good location at the Gran Via, nice interior, beautiful rooms, good breakfast and cheap for the quality offered. The only disadvantage is the noise from the street so ask for a room not facing the Gran Via. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
