We went to this restaurant for what we hoped would be a memorable meal for our final night in Madrid. And memorable it was for all the wrong reasons.

We arrived and were promptly shown to a table and soon after we were given the menus. And that’s where it started to go wrong. We waited and waited and waited for someone to come and take our order. We caught the eye of the Maitre’d and he indicated he’d be right over. And we continued to wait and wait and wait. We caught his eye again and this time he came over, with all of his actions indicating we were being impatient. We complained and pointed out to him that we had been waiting for over 20 minutes at which point he said he wasn’t going to discuss it and walked away.

Soon after one of the waiters came over and took our order. The drinks arrived (one wrong but quickly corrected) and the waiting continued. From sitting down to getting our starter was 45 minutes. With no apology from the restaurant, this sort of delay is completely unacceptable.

The food itself was OK but was certainly not worth waiting for so long. Had it just been slow service, had there been an apology, we could have overlooked things. But the behaviour of the Maitre’d was totally unacceptable - he needs to return to Maitre’d school or find another job!

Jillian was the only person serving 8 tables, no waiting for food and he paid attention to every request. To top it all, the food tasted really really great. Thank you

We struggled to find an affordable place for dinner in Madrid as we had been travelling for 6 weeks and were at the end of our money. Luckily we found Diboccas, great pizza and half a bottle of good red wine for under 20 euros. Pleasant setting and lovely staff.
