We ended up at St. James based on a recommendation from a local colleague and were not disappointed. As touristy American types, we had asked for paella and that is apparently St. James' specialty. I have to admit that I have very little real paellas to compare to St. James' but having said that, I thought their paella was absolutely incredible. We ordered two kinds for our table of 4, one with seafood and one with chicken, rabbit, and chorizo. Both were spectacular and I was pleased that the seafood was all shelled already and required no hand-work. Iberico jamon and croquettes for appetizers were also great.
The highlight of the experience was our host/server, Karim, who clearly excels at his job, particularly with a table partially full of women. Flowing between Spanish, French, and English, he was as much a contributor to the greatness of our meal than the food was itself.
I would definitely recommend St. James and if you do decide to go, also ask for Karim.
PS: There is a 50% off deal at the moment through some website. Definitely be sure to search for that deal before going as that makes the meal even better.
