Having a Latin background, I've tried different tapas in a bunch of different restaurants and cities - but I must say the ones from Taberna del Chato are unique! Do not miss the croquetas de jamón (ham), pollo al curry (chicken) and the solomillo teriyaqui (of tender sirloin). Their menu is complemented by other side dishes, a la carte meals and desserts, if you're that hungry. The sangría is delicious and their list of cocktails is creative. The restaurant is located in the trendy and bohemian downtown Madrid, but still conserves its authenticity and should definitely not be considered a tourist trap. It is small and cosy enough, with a friendly and quick service. The bill for 2 people was 32 euros and we more than satisfied.
I'll go there again soon! :D
