Enjoyed quad room on the top floor, with much open space, a large balcony and great views. Great part of town (our second visit to this area) and just a short walk to the Prado Museum. Stayed only 1 night before heading south, will definitely return - kids loved it.

As others have noted, the location of this hotel is exceptional - close to the Prado and other museums and gardens, it maintains a refined facade on a broad avenue. Many excellent shops and restaurants are within a 10-15 minute walk. The staff is congenial with very good English and very eager to help.

While the location is excellent, the layout inside the hotel is not the best. The rooms are quite small - I had a double with a bed that was hard rather than firm (it was a thin, hard mattress on a platform) with two uncomfortable foam pillows and thin linens. There was not enough room between the bed and the desk in the room to fully pull out the desk chair, so working at the desk was a bit of a squeeze. This is much more a room for someone who just needs a place to sleep rather than a center for numerous tourist and business activities that will require coming back often.

Somewhat offsetting the room size, rooms have ample closet space, a large number of power outlets (not always the norm in Spain) and a spacious bathroom with a quirky but ultimately very comfortable shower.

The WiFi at the hotel is excellent - free and very fast and the staff has prepared a handout with very clear instructions about how to connect.

The breakfast buffet (7am-11am) is quite good - it is 11 Euros, but if you want more than a piece of toast, it's worth it.

Dear Lyn_Farme

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on TripAdvisor following your recent stay with us. We appreciate your feedback and while we are pleased to read your positive comments about exceptional location, WiFi and the breakfast buffet, we are sorry to hear that your room did not fit your needs for this stay. In relation to the bedroom sizes, being a townhouse, the nature of it is that some rooms are of different shapes and sizes.

We hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back at which time we will spare no effort in providing you with the perfect stay.

Yours Sincerely,

José Mª Sánchez

Good location, Park and Museum is just around the corner. 10 mins to the main square.
But the room is quite small and there is almost no soundproof.
You can rent a bike for free.
Free internet in the hotel.

Dear RyabovAlex:

Thank you for taking the time to post your review of Petit Palace Lealtad Plaza on Tripadvisor.
It gives me great pleasure to know that you had an enjoyable stay with us and that you appreciated the hotel’s central location; close to many of Madrid’s Museums, especially the Prado and Thyssen, as well as being a short walk from Retiro Park and be sure our 71 bedroom Hotel does offer several configurations of bedrooms due to the age of the building and if we have the pleasure of welcoming you back please do let us know so we can allocate you one of our bigger rooms with a nice view and also I am pleased that you enjoyed our free rent a bike and free internet.

We look forward to welcoming you back!!

Nice and clean hotel. Comfortable room albeit reasonably small if ine booked the standard one.
Excellently located near Madrid musea and basically - if you wear your walking shoes - the whole of Madrid is within walking distance. Free bike rental. Good beakfast buffet. Poor in-room wifi - frequently inaccessible.

Stayed: May 2014

Belatedly, I can only apologise for the shortfalls with the wifi system, an antenna has to be repaired to solve the problem.

That about sums it up. The only downsides are: a) very firm beds (like the rest of Spain); b) king bed is actually two twins; c) no on-site cafe, though the breakfast buffet is EXCELLENT. The kids loved the bunk beds, of course! And overall very quiet.

Dear Jefrrey S:

Thank you very much for your lovely comment.I am very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and you found the location to be easy access to the best Museums of Madrid.
It is glad to hear you enjoyed with our breakfast buffet and the kids the bunk beds and for the next time ask for a family room with king bed as we have some of them.

It will be a real pleasure for us to host you in our Hotel again.
