The front desk staff was extremely helpful. At check-in and for recommendations, they were very nice. The price of the hotel was reasonable for the location. The room was a little past its prime, but very comfortable, and I felt very safe. There is a store next door where you can pick up drinks and sandwiches if you need a quick snack.

I recently stayed at the Paseo del Prado Hotel during a business trip. The location was wonderful, being so close to Retiro Park and all the wonderful museums. The staff was very helpful and available anytime to help me navigate my way around. A good choice.

THis is a very well located hotel- it does position, position, position extremely well!! It is right across the road from Museo del Prado, & within walking distance of the market, gardens, restaurants.
The room menu is really cool- it is in the form of a groovey newspaper.
The room was just ok. The level of cleanliness could have been alot better.
The bathroom was dark & not at all practical & made the room seem smaller.
The staff had serious attitude problems- a smile would be nice people you are after all in the people business.

The hotel is 5 minutes away from the Banco de espagne metro. Desk staff is very polite and friendly. Our room was facing the street but was soundproof. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms are not very big, but good; bathroom was great.

Room Tip: The "standard room" appears to be facing the interior, so ask for an upgrade to a room wit...

Just back from a 3 night break with 9 friends at the Paseo del Prado. The location is perfect - just across from the museo del prado (well worth a visit, so I've been told) and within walking distance to the botanical gardens, the best bars and finest tapas restaurants in Madrid.
Just outside of the hotel is a hop on/hop off stop for the city bus tours, worth doing if you've an hour or two to spare.
As for the hotel, the rooms are a good size, bathrooms spot on (huge showers) and in-room safe. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, however.
We chose to stay with breakfast included, (additional €15 per person per day) whilst the buffet breakfast was ample, you had to ask the waitress for tea or coffee and also for any additional hot food.
The waitress that served us each day (with the pierced face) seemed completely disinterested in serving us, we didn't get offered anything, we had to call her over each time, annoying considering the cost of the breakfast.
Despite this I would stay here again, mainly for the location though, but I certainly wouldn't include breakfast (plenty of cafes locally).

Despite its great location - within walking distance to Museos del Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia - I felt that this hotel is too much turned into the "design/fashion" trend, disregarding some basic concepts that might work better for the tourist.

The bathroom was dark and not practical at all: the door opened against the sanitary vase, towel hangers were in a dangerous position that could hurt people and there was almost no light in the shower.

Closets were also an issue, specially for the elder, with very high hangers and hard to put your clothes in. My room had a mirror in a strange position, right at my side of the bed, so anyone trying clothes should come almost upon me. Very annoying, to be frank.

Decoration was a little outdated and seemed cheap in some aspects (i.e. wallpaper), and seeing some banners saying that this is a "green hotel concerned with the environment" while filled with halogenic lamps all around is something of a joke.

On its favor, there´s an excellent breakfast buffet and the staff is warm and ready to everything. I only advise to include the breakfast in your rate BEFORE doing your reservation, otherwise they charge you € 27 for it!

The location is perfect for Madrid visitors (including easy nearby parking if frinds come to see you). The Reception is very helpful (after Air France lost my bags). Lots of good restaurants of every level within walking distance. And the Thyssen is next door. Get a good map of Madrid before you go! (Note that the Michelin w/e Guide is good, but wrong on most of the visitor details of the Monasterios de las Descalzas).
