Arriving in Chueca is a disovery on its own, but finding this refined food hall and joyful restaurant is another nice surprise. The food is pretty good, but the ambience is better than the food experience itself.

This lovely little market has everything its big brother Mercado San Miguel has only on a smaller scale. Lovely fresh fruit, cheese, meats, tapas and alcoholic drinks. You can buy food to take away or enjoy it in their seating areas. A conventional supermarket is situated below the market but the best part for us was the roof top bar. Take the stairs right to the top where you will find a little oasis. Stylish, comfortable seating, plenty of shade, very relaxed atmosphere and a well stocked bar. A lager is around 3.50 and cava 5.00. Very reasonable.

Go to Chueca in Madrid, walk around , and walk into Mercado de San Anton to have a nice experience. You could have a nice little lunch, not so pricey, enjoy with the locals, and also later you can buy products to take home. Good place for a snacks, or small bites!!!

I discovered this place by pure luck walking down towards the city centre. This place is more than just a market where you can buy bio products, on level 2 and 3 you also can eat on the spot various food products from Spain, but also Italy, Greece or France. On the 2nd level you also find a great juice bar as well a a place where you can choose your cut of beef to make a perfect hamburger while on the 3rd floor there is a quite good bakery/ice-cream store. All this makes it a perfect place for lunch or just a snack.
But the best is yet to come: on the roof there is a fantastic bar where you can sit on a terrace overlooking the street and sip a lovely cocktail.
Fuencarral street is just a couple of blocks away and it's located between Gran Via and Chueca metro stations.

Its a small market but what is awesome about it is the food outlets on the second floor. The good all looks amazing... From small meals to tapas food. They all sell drinks and theres. A wine bar. There happened to be a great jazz band playing too. Theres a rooftop bar as well. Definitely come here for a feed and a drink.
