“Cosy and quiet close to Reina Sofia”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

The crew is but a big smile. Friendly and helpful and all of them speak fluent english. The rooms are well isolated and we were not bothered by any noise at all. What we missed was moore space for clothes and luggage. The rest is good value for the money. Breakfast is simple but ok and goes on into lunch hours. Good 24 h open free coffee.

We did all of Madrid by foot and found it easy to reach the most interesting places. Reina Sofia with modern art and Atocha station is 5 min walk. Another 5 min and you're in Retiro Park. 30 min slow walk north to Plaza Major.

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much for your review.
We are very happy that your stay was a positive experience with us. We are glad to hear such a nice words about the location near the museums and Atocha Central Station, the smiling staff at front desk and our continental breakfast.

We are thinking to improve a little bit of more space for the clothes into the rooms, it ´ll be difficult but thanks for your honest feedback.

Thanks again and hope to see you soon.

Best regards,

What a great little hotel in Madrid about a 10 minute walk from train station. 5 euros from airport to train station on the yellow express bus. The hotel is clean, quiet and the staff is wonderful. 4 euros for breakfast and free coffee, tea and drinks available 24 hours. We arrived and departed from Madrid and on our return to hotel they had a nice bottle of wine and snacks waiting for us in the room. WOW. The owner of hotel has a restaurant not to far from hotel that was excellent also. Thank you Artrip for making our stay so enjoyable.

Room Tip: I requested a quit room so first night room 403 in back of hotel and no view on return room 401 in f...

Great little hip boutique hotel- spotless & brand new....Excellent and very friendly staff! A good 15 min walk to plaza mayor, but nice to be away, felt like a real neighborhood. Can't really think of anything that hasn't already been said but wanted to add to the applause!

Super friendly welcome to this small but well formed boutique in Madrid.

A good value option that's located about ten mins out from the central areas. The surrounds are eclectic, the room was well appointed and the breakfast functional-but-value.

The owner and his team are fantastic.

Excellent location for visiting Madrid. Friendly and very helpful staff. Explained what was good to see and do in such a short visit. Rooms are clean and spacious with air condition. Would certainly stay again there on next visit to Madrid.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendliest receptionist we have ever met in any hotel! She provided us with plenty of background information about the hotel, places to go visit, places to eat and was just a lovely happy person to talk too.
The hotel is very new and only has 16 or so rooms so book early if you want to stay here.
If you are like us and like a firm bed this is your place.
Most rooms had double glazed doors which opened up to a small balcony overlooking the street. There were also internal shutters which would block out sunlight and help reduce the afternoon heat/noise. Also there is two air-conditioners and a fan in the room if it gets hot.
The hotel is literally a two minute walk from metro station Lavapies.
The subsequent receptionists were just as nice/helpful as the first.
Check out is late 12pm and breakfast is served until 11:30am.
We would happily stay here again if in Madrid!

Artrip deserves the praise given in other reviews. Service, cleanliness and location were excellent. Breakfast for 4 Euros a day was a bargain! We asked for a quiet room and, while it had no view, it was newly renovated 18 months ago, had modern fixtures, good shower and a great bed. The elevator is efficient but be sure to check out the original beautiful old staircase which was also painstakingly renovated and very functional. One block away from Lavapies Plaza and metro stop, it was easy to get anywhere. Take 5 minutes to figure out the metro system once and you will save your feet miles of walking and make your trip much more pleasant!

The owner, Miguel, and Julietta who runs the breakfast room to perfection, were very helpful and always had a smile to offer. It's in the museum district very near Reina Sofia Museum, Atocha train station is a 5 minute walk- with bags- and the Prado is an easy, safe walk. This whole area was veery safe. We would return for sure.

Room Tip: Take 5 minutes to figure out the metro system once and you will save your feet miles of walking and...
