This hotel is great. If you get yourself a map of the underground metro then you can get everywhere. I stayed here in Sept 2012 for 4 nights. It was a couple of changes on the metro from the airport but I easily found it. It's in a quieter location away from the noisy centre so it's lovely. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. My room was huge and beautiful ask for a high floor then you get a better view. The beds were the only slight problem of being uncomfy but apart from that it was perfect. Madrid is a fantastic place to visit and if I was to go again I would stay here again.

Good hotel. Supermarket Carrefour is near the hotel. Metro station is 5 minutes walk away. The hotel is situated a little bit far from the center of the city in a quiet district. I consider the hotel to be expensive for 3 stars.

My daughter and I spent 3 nights in the silken torre during 1/2 term. Our top floor room, which we had requested, had excellent views and was of high standard. The room comprised of a sitting/dressing area, a sleeping area and a bathroom. The sitting room contained the usual desk/ dressing table space, a full length mirror, more clothing storage than an average home bedroom and a very useful fridge mini bar. The beds were very comfortable, which, after hours of sightseeing were very welcome. Breakfast, served in a clean tidy diningroom, was plentiful and offered a good variety of food.
The hotel is easily found on leaving the metro station as is the local shopping centre. The huge Carrefour is well stocked. There are a few other smaller shops and fast food restuarants.

Madrid is a beautiful city with a great deal to see. However, a peppermint foot soak is a good idea at the end of each day. We were amazed at how reasonably priced things were in comparison to London. The metro is a convenient ,well sign posted way to get in and out of the city. We bought a 3 day travel card which was very useful on both tube and buses.

Room Tip: Higher rooms give great views

First the positives. The room was an excellent size with plenty of space, a separate area with extra bed and a desk to work at should you need it. Get a room on one of the high floors - 8 or 9 and you have lovely views of the city, especially at night. Close by, ~2 minutes walk is a huge Carrefour supermarket and shopping arcade. This is useful if you're going to be travelling further and want to stock up on groceries.
Now the negatives. Many mentioned this hotel is close to the airport but this is only if you travel be car. By metro it's quite a distance - approximately 45 minutes and several changes. The other downside is the lack of internet. I was given a code for the wifi but it never actually worked. Breakfast isn't included as standard so check if you have it in your deal otherwise you'll need to pay about €10. The staff were efficient but not particularly welcoming or helpful.
Overall, a reasonable hotel but nothing out of the ordinary.

We stayed here 2 night in our tour for Madrid, on August 2007. The choice was inspirated because the hotel is very good for the rooms, and breakfast and for being in a residential area. I liked room because was large and good beds, and bathroom had good quality furniture. The tube station very near, only few minutes to walking of pleasure...The Metro very good and in 15 minutes you can arrive to the centre of Madrid. Also good view for the landscape of outside... So I think that hotel deserve to stay here if you come in Madrid. So choose it!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights. Great location in Alsacia, nice and quiet and only 100m from the metro station, which takes you everywhere. Hotel staff very friendly and very helpful, massive room, minibar, bathroom with free toiletries, hairdryer in all rooms, beds were big but very hard & uncomfortable. We had a nice view inland on the side of the hotel. Continental breakfast was good and got more than what we paid for in whole, I would stay here again. Safe Hire 10 Euros which is given back to you at the end.

Metro directions from Airport; buy your ticket from the machines provided near the metro station located in the airport and get on the pink line (8) to Nuevos Ministerios, change onto the grey line (6 circular) to Cuatro Caminos, change onto the red line (2) to Las Rosas and get off at Alsacia. Metro maps can be collected at the metro information desk in the airport.
turn right out of the top of the station and walk to the right, you will see "HOTEL" above a building which is the Silken Torre Garden.

Tourist Tickets:
1 day = 8 Euros
2 day = 13.40 Euros
3 day = 17.40 Euros
Madrid is a wonderfild city, very vibrant and very busy, staying just out of the city is best as you can open your windows and wont be disturbed by anything. The metro is just like the London underground, very safe and you can use your tickets as often and as many times as you want each day (unlimited).

Room Tip: All rooms are brilliant we asked for a high floor, single beds and nice view, which we got all 3. Al...
