“Great location...poor soundproofing.”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The nice thing about this place is the location, right behind Plaza del Sol. It is in a nice touristy neighborhood full of nightlife and close to great attractions like Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol. However I got a terribe room with paper-thin walls where I could hear my neighbor snore all night while he had his TV at full blast. This room had hands down the worst possible arrangment of furniture, where the bed was pointing at the door, and the door was at the end of a really long hall full of doors that opened and closed all night....the worst feng-sui ever!
I got switched to another room, which was nicer, but the paper-thin walls were the same, this time with romantic neighbors. The street noise in this room was unbearable, since it is right in the thick of the nightlife.
I've spent the night in many places in Madrid and I'd stay anywhere but here. If you don't mind soundproofing, then it has a great location. My 2 cents.

The best feature of this Hostel is the location! It is of walking distance to pretty much everything.
The rooms were small and the washroom tiny. However, they were clean and adequate. I stayed here for a weekend and didn't spend too much time in the room so the size was not a problem for me.
The only thing I really did not like about this place was that you had to leave your key at the front and the employees were always in a room and not at the front desk. So I felt a little uneasy leaving the key to my room out in the open like that.
Overall, I was satisfied with my stay here. It's great for a short term stay.

This hotel was a great find.
Smiling friendly reception staff, very helpful, who provided me with a free map. When requested, they then gave me clear instructions on how to get to the Prado, pointing out the route I should take on the map. ¡Perfecto!
Clean tiled hallway, clean tiled room. Good firm bed, clean cotton sheets. Good shower. Everything worked. In-room safe. Multi-channel tv that worked! (A rarity in budget hotels, in my experience). Heater, which was needed in January.
There was no dining area or meals available, but there are plenty of cafes in the vicinity, so that was no loss at all.

The hotel is situated close to Puerta del Sol, the central hub of Madrid.
The Prado, the Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza art museos, (galleries), are an easy walk from the hotel, as is the Plaza Mayor. All are worth a visit.
There is a metro station at Puerta del sol.
There are a wealth of restaurants/cafes and bars in the area, with prices to suit a range of budgets.

At 35 euros per night, for a hotel located in the centre of the city, this is a splendid budget option.

We stayed here for 5 nights in november - we were really satistied. Cleaning every day, free wifi, LCD TV, big bathroom. The pillow was interesting, it was only long one. We asked room in the newer building without street window and the nights were silent. There is elevator, the room was on the third floor. The reception is opposite the building. You get security card, it opens the main door and your rooms door.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and found it very romantic since it was a smaller room with a rustic feel. We had a window with a view out onto the street and it had all the basic necessities we needed, including WiFi. It was very close to most of Madrid's sights including the Plaza Mayor where you will find plenty of restaurants/bars and souvenier shops. Would definitely stay here again as it is also very secure and monitored 24/7.

Good value for money. Central Location!!!
As it's an international hotel and it has visitors from around the world, the hotel staff should try to learn/improve their English as it was a bit hard for me to expalin what I wanted.
