This hotel is a great value. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Very clean, the AC worked well, a fairly large room and the bathroom was really nice. We requested a quiet room and were given a room facing the courtyard, which worked well for us. We would stay in this hotel again.

Hotel Europa is a nice hotel in the Plaza del Sol region of Madrid. Close to shopping, nice restaurants/bars, and in the heart of the city, it's in a great location. Although I only stead for 1 night as I spent the majority of my time in Barcelona, the hotel was good. Maybe a little higher on the price scale, it was ok. Although the rooms could use maybe a little sprucing up, it was comfortable, clean, and close to all the attractions which was great. The hotel restaurant/bar was nice, and the staff was lovely as well. I did love the small terrace of our room which was a nice surprise. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Europa and would stay again.

This hotel is awesome. Here for a few days solo and felt very welcomed and comfortable. The staff, all of them, are great. Not intrusive, but certainly ready when you even think you need something. The rooms are impeccably clean and well cared for. The views to Puerto Del Sol inspire people watching. The location is walkable to anywhere. Can't ask for better! Love this hotel! I saw reviews where people complained of noise. Well, not an issue. Close your window and use the AC. Very quiet, unless you want Sol in your dreams. Happy Madrid.

What could make a trip more memorable than to step out onto your balcony with masses of people below in the Plaza del Sol. The room was huge and beautiful and the location was tops. We arrived just after the king abdicated so there was a protest going on in the Plaza. It was exciting. The location is right on the Metro stop so everything was convenient and easily accessed. I would stay here anytime I could make it to Madrid.

Room Tip: Any room looking over the plaza would be great.

We stayed in Hotel Europa, Madrid in June 17-June19 and June 23-June 25. The hotel is almost right in Puerta del Sol. You can look out at the plaza from your hotel room. We booked a triple room via the hotel websites and was able to get discount (but you have to pay in full). It's definitely a great value.

The hotel is super clean. Our rooms for both stays were spotless. The air condition also worked very well. Granted, there's not much decoration in the room, and we had a relatively small TV, but we were so tired everyday, all we wanted was a comfortable, clean room to sleep. This is what you will get from Hotel Europa. One of our room has balcony which you look out to the plaza. This came in handy because while we stayed that, King Felipe VI was being coroneted, and we were able to see the actions from our balcony the morning of the event.

The hotel service was also good. Front-desk folks all speak perfect English so no problems as all. I asked for restaurant recommendations every night, and I had not disappointed with the suggestions.

The only downside I can think of - Taxi can't drop you directly in front of the hotel. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to ask the driver to stop in Plaza Carman, and you can see the hotel just down the street (less than 1min walk).

All in all...we had a wonderful stay.

The Hotel Europa was better than we had expected, even from seeing the photos online. It's clean, the staff is efficient and nice, and the location can't be beat.

There a safes in the rooms for valuables.

Our room was modern, clean and our balcony looked right out over the Puerta del Sol.

Room Tip: High floors are further away from the street noise, but I will say, the double-pane windows do a goo...
