“Delicious tapas and a buzzy atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I ate in this restaurant on a Saturday evening whilst visiting Madrid for a long weekend.
Having turned up without a reservation, we were unsure if we would get seated. Despute the restaurant being very busy, the hostess quickly sorted us out a table.
The tapas was delicious - I highly recommend the calamari bocadillo and the patatas bravas. The staff, although very busy, were extremely friendly and took time to answer questions about the food.
The restaurant was very reasonably priced with excellent service and food - full marks all round!

“Good restaurant but better in the evening”
Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

We took the menu of the day, it Was good, cheap and big but not very typical. Tapas only in the evening. Be careful on food not included in the menu of the day, we paid the water too much (3, 50 euros forse one bottle)

“A night to remember”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

This is one of the best restaurants in madrid. The atmosphere is great, packed with people and with incredible architecture features - in one of the rooms you're sat on top of the ruins of old madrid.
Fantastic staff, super polite and the chef even came and chat with us explaining the background of one of the desserts - la antoñita soap- an amazing white chocolate and lavender parfait with lime foam.
We ordered about 6 tapas- croquetas, prawn fritters, Russian salad with caviar, pork chops with pineapple, squid and some greens and everything was cooked to perfection and had a great balance between haute cuisine and rustic Latina vibes.

A great experience and I highly recommend it.

“Nice little place, unfussy but good”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Tripadvisor has revolutionised the market, with over 3,000 places to eat on Madrid, how does a short visit punter decide where to get some decent value for money fodder - well, this place was well rated, so, booking made (glad we did, got very busy) Saturday dinner it was.
We had a table on the glass floor over the exposed wall of the original city, nice to see it was too. A limited menu always appeals to me, less likely to be pre-packed mass market rubbish - and not disappointed at all.
There is a 2 man 'hot pass' in the restaurant and more cooking and preparing out the back, but good to see them preparing some dishes in front of you. The tapas selection is not massive, but the cod tempura and shrimp fritters were great, in fact, we ordered on advice 4 dishes and it was fine for 2 of us.
Decent bottle of red for good measure and all in, a lovely evening in this great eating district of Madrid

“lovely place to wine and dine”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

my first dinner in madrid.. and im glad i had it here, we started with some tapas and wine (as per my husband a great selection of wine) and some light dishes, the bill came out quite reasonable, the staff were very accommodating, helpful and friendly (smiles a lot) which is an A+ for any foreigner who knows very basic spanish , even gave us some freebies.. we chose a table in the area with glass floors where u can actually see their wine cellar under ground showcasing the original walls of the bldg which i understand is built around 1600... couldn't ask for more for ambiance... a lovely evening, a must try.
