“Goya is still here!”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

Francisco Goya’s place of eternal rest, is the home to one of the first jobs, the Miracle of St. Anthony of Padua. This is a great cozy full of art! Goya’s work at the Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida was commissioned and begun in 1798, after he became a court painter, The dome and frescoes he painted took the artist about six months to complete, today you can see these frescoes at the Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida. Not to miss.

“Gem”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

Any one visiting Madrid should find time for this little Hermitage home to Goyas tomb.
The frescos he painted decorating this little hermitage are the best iv seen and should not be missed at any cost. The arrangement of mirrors to view the frescos is brilliant and all for free. The best value in Madrid.

“A MUST if you are a Goya fan and even if you are not”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

After seeing the Goya's in the Prado, this is absolutely spectacular. in our opinion, the frescos are some of his best work. Sit down, relax, and look upward at some of the best art around. Take your time to enjoy the beauty. This is a wonderful location and venue for this work. Easy to get to but off the normal tourist track. Worth the effort to get there.

“Bring a pin if you are looking for a husband.”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

This is small beautiful church, in the old days dressmakers use to come to this hermit the Saint Antonio day to pin his dress and ask for a husband....., while here eat roasted chicken at Casa Mingo with a bottle of sider. It is an old asturias restaurant very popular among people in Madrid. The price is as low as you can dream in this city.

“Nice Place to visit”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

I read the reviews on the hermitage and decided I had to find this place and make the visit. Well it is average, very average so I can't understand all the fuss. I know it is EL Grecos resting place and for that reason it is very special, but as far as anything else, I can't say I was impressed. I would not discourage anyone from going but perhaps I was expecting this place to have a lovely peaceful garden and feel about it - but it's on a busy main road, the building needs repair and inside the chapel everything looks like it needs restoration.
