“Good hotel”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

The room is very small. Looks like the room in some hotels in New York or Chicago. The bed uncomfortable. Too hard! Laminate floors in the room is excellent idea. The room was clean.
The location is awesome. Anton Martin Metro stop is just at the entrance.. and if you want to walk to the Prado you are just 7 minutes away walking. Plaza mayor and palacio real are also pretty close. Price is not the best but I can justify it just for the location.

ROOMS:We were upgraded to a premium room which was very comfortable. The room is definitely small if you go by American standards but it was extremely clean and well furnished with a very very clean bathroom .Of all the hotels we stayed in Spain this was the only one that had a hot water kettle and coffee in the room.Though the hotel is right on the main road there was absolutely no noise in the rooms.

SERVICE: Check in was fast and friendly. They handed us a map and marked out the easiest ways to get to the sights.Housekeeping was great - everyday we came back to our room it felt like we had just checked in - our clothes were folded away and everything was so tidy no matter what state we left it in.

Watch out for the elevator - it is quite small and is not on a sensor - it will close on you and HARD!

LOCATION:This hotel is extremely accessible - There is access to a metro station right at the entrance of the hotel along with a bus stop. The Atocha station is withing walking distance or if you prefer Taxi - its less than 5euros away depending on which side of the road you hail your taxi from. If you take the express bus from the airport it drops you off at the Atocha for 5 euros per person.

All the major sights were within walking distance and there are plenty of places to eat around the area.

Madrid is quite dog friendly - leashed and unleashed but most pet owners don't seem to pick up after them so watch where you put your foot on the sidewalk!!

Dear Cynlex

Thank you very much for the feed back. We are very pleased taht we were able to upgrade your reservation. Our hotel was built in the place of an historic building from 1912 (former railway station Atocha workers) and turn into hotel in 2002. It is a protected building and some of the rooms are big enough for some standards. Anyway, we tryed to set in the best way the furnitures and what we did is set the best beds in the premium rooms. As well as you mentioned, the room has kettle at your disposal. The best parts of the hotel as well are the location and the staff , we try to improve the service day by day. We have to be the best in Service, guest satisfaction and care of the guest, this is our identity, at least we try our best day by day. The hotel is wel located and the local transportation in my opinion (it is the same as yours) is cheap and quick. I am very sorry about hte issue with the dogs that it seems you had .

I stayed in the hotel on business. The hotel staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive. I needed to change my room, they were more than willing to assist, and then after I came home I realised that I had left my scarf behind in the room, and they were very kind and sent it over to me

I was most satisfied.

I recommend the hotel to anybody visiting Madrid either on business or holiday.

We stayed in the hotel due to its proximity with Madrid train statiion. The front desk staff was superficially nice, not very warm in welcoming. The airconditioning was not working in the room and has to change the room. The hallways and rooms were congested. I would suggest if you have an alternative go to different hotel.

Dear Jafferany

Thank you very much for your words. You are totally right, the hotel is located 7 minutes from the downtown, "puerta del Sol" and five minutes from the railways station. We will take care of the points you remarked and try to improve them. We try to involve our staff in the guest satisfaction and following your word we will improve the procedure, for sure. We are very sorry for the issue with the air condition. Do not hesitate that we will improve our performance in order to get our goal, maximum guest satisfaction. I wish you the best for the Christmas and new year

Stayed at the Tryp Atocha for 3 nights at the end of October/November. I requested a non-smoking, quiet room and that's what I got. The room was a little stuffy, but we could leave the window open as we had a room facing the interior courtyard, which was very quiet.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the room serviced to a high standard every day.

The location is perfect, just a short stroll to Plaza Mayor and Atocha station the other way. All the sights are within easy walking distance.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had the standard double room, which was easily adequate in size for the two of us.

Just come back from a great stay at this hotel, Really quick and easy to find from Atocha train station.

Rooms was a premier twin, clean, modern, large bathroom and balconly style windows, with tea & coffee, ironing board and flat screen t.v.

Only downside was air con was switched off even thought the temperatures where in the 18-20'c did mean alot of traffic noise and street noise as had to leave my windows open for fresh air.

But I only paid 108.00 euros total for 2 nights and had a bottle of red wine on arrival for free as per on-line offer so a fantastic deal.

Next to Santa Ana Plaza and easy to get to the Gran Via.

Wouls stay again no worries.

I stayed two nights in this hotel. It was a lovely hotel, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable and the bathroom well stocked. The breakfast was great, lots of fresh fruit and good coffee. However when I got there there was no internet and no telephone connection. I told the reception and they would get it fixed the next day, as I had arrived very late. The next morning, I aslo discovered that there was no hot water and the safe did not work. At breakfast I also let the reception know. In the end, they only fixed the telephone, the least of my worries.
