Last month we shared a two bedroom two bath apartment at Eric Vokel Madrid suites with another couple from the U. K. who are dear friends. The experience could not have been better. Apartment was great. Staff was great. Price was quite reasonable. Location was wonderful - one block from the Metro station on the line we used the most. Supermarket two doors away. Good restaurants nearby. Walking distance to Gran Via, Opera, Sol. Highly recommend staying there. Troy D. Dallas, Texas

Our group of 6 rented a 3-bedroom apartment suite. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and size of the apartment. The hotel is extremely close to a Metro (subway) station which makes travelling a breeze. The rate for our apartment is very reasonable compared to other hotels in Barcelona. The only thing that can be improved is one of the three rooms has only a twin bed which is too small for a couple.

Booked this hotel for 5 of us for my hen do in February and the Eric Vokel was perfect! Modern stylish and spacious. Was great fun with us all getting ready together, having a glass of wine before we went our for our evening meal. Lots of bars and restaurants near by and good location for sight seeing., helpful reception staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had no idea what to expect from these apartment suites as we have only ever stayed in hotels and b&b's on our vacations. If all apartments can be like Eric Vokel, then hotels will no longer be an option for us. His apartments are exceptional! Inside of a beautiful period building are secured apartments with all the mod cons of the 21st century. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, which basically translates into a luxury suite of a hotel, but at half the price.

Space, beautiful shutters, tasteful decor in muted tones, flat screen tv and wi if are mere basics offered in these boutique apartments. Everything from all electrical appliances including heated towel rails that actually switch on, to central heating/cooling to the welcome cleaning kit (there is the option of your apartment being serviced), are included to make your stay as hassle free and comfortable as possible.

The welcome desk staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and spoke good English. To boot, there is a roof top terrace where you can relax on loungers in the sun with the rooftops of Madrid as your view. Outside showers are there to cool off.

Although the noise levels at night were slightly challenging, we agreed that any hotel/apartment might experience the noise of this bustling city and that the only way to combat that would be to "when in Spain, do as the Spanish do" and that's eat out after 10 and enjoy the energy Madrid has to offer before falling into an exhausted sleep at around 1 am, when the city starts to quieten down.

We will be looking out for Eric Vokel boutique apartments in the future and in the hopes that one of his fabulous apartments happen to be in that city!

Room Tip: All rooms are great, private and beautifully decorated with lots of space and hi tech equipment.

Dear Guest,

We are most delighted that you shared your experience in our accommodations with us.

It is very inspirational to hear these things from our clients since it lets us know that our duty is being fullfilled. Nevertheless we take into account your commentaries about the street noises, which sometimes are completely unavoidable when you are in such a dynamic city as Madrid.

Thanks again for having chosen Eric Vökel as your place to stay in Madrid and we hope you come pay us a visit soon whether in Madrid or Barcelona.

We took a flyer on Eric Vokel seeing as how it had just opened in February 2012 and at the time, the googlemaps street view showed a rundown place in transition. Wow, were we surprised. It's an efficient, sensible apartment complex that is not deep on bathroom amenities but more than makes up for it with a logical floor plan and design, modern and sleek lines, separate bedroom areas that make it perfect for a family of four, and not too far from a subway stop.

Check in was easy (and is available 24-hours). Front bedroom was on street but not overly noisy, and separated from the common area (sitting room and kitchen) with a sliding japanese screen door. Back bedroom was down the hallway and faced a center courtyard, so it was quite quiet and good for kids (two twin beds). Bathroom, which was economical, was in the middle of the hallway: shower, toilet, sink.

The best part was the kitchenette, which had everything--pots, pans, dishes, dishwasher, oven, microwave, silverware--perfect if you want to eat in. We only used this a couple of nights but this could have been a savior for a long-term stay.

Wi-fi coverage was pretty good.

We would come back!

We were 5 persons in total, so we searched for a place suitable for all. Eric Vokel Suites was the perfect hotel/apartment to stay in Madrid.
Just 2 mn walking from Gran Via, huge areas, nice views over Madrid's rooftops. All was very clean and we really felt so confortable there... It was the best hotel of all our vacations.
It was also very nice as we could cook our own meal instead of going out everyday to have dinner.
When I return to Madrid, for sure I will try to book it again. The only thing I must point out is the lack of parking space near hotel.

We had a terrible experience..

We you read other guests reviews and corporate information you assume you are booking a hotel, it is not, it is a private building with private flats, but ok... no problem..

Next issue, nobody in reception, unsafe and if you have a problem (that is quite easy as internet is not working and they have bed bugs) you can not complain or change the flat

People ringing on your door during the night (other customers)

We found bed bugs in our beds, so disgusting, some of us were crazy about it, cleaning is terrible, see my next point.

Nobody cleans your room never, self service issue, sorry but this is something to be considered as you do not travel to clean an apartment of six people, you are on vacation, this is not ideal

I do not know who created this concept but was thinking on revenues rather than customer's approach.

I complained to booking.com where I booked and the said that they got some bad reviews but more excellent ones, after a time reading the so called good ones I am very suspicious on this place, they look too professional, great we have tripadvisor to know the truth.
