Well I have not been to many zoos. This one was amazing so big. The shows are amazing. The only downside is that the birds of pray that are used in the show are chained to the ground some had stumps to stand on. But still it was horrible to see. All the other animals seemed happy and healthy. They also had lots of young to show for a good breading program. Very easy to find we took the subway(Metro).

This has to be one of the best zoo's in Europe, easily as good as London Zoo, and blessed with great summer weather so you can stroll and view all it has to offer rather than watching the sky for rain.

Madrid Zoo is overpriced and the animals are treated awfully. Birds are chained to the ground, animals are in tiny enclosures and minimal water was available (I was there in the summer when it was quite hot - wouldn't be surprised if some died of heat stroke). Would never go back!

Madrid Zoo is just a few stops on the metro and a pleasant 5 minute rural walk from the city centre. It cost just over 22 euros per adult but we found this good value. The main highlights were the 4 pandas (an amazing set of twins were born at the zoo) and the dolphin show. We liked the openness of many animal areas and how clean it all was. There were various types of bears and koalas, minks and elephants. The aquarium set in a modern pyramid building was beautifully presented. We had lunch in an a la carte restaurant which was of a high standard and worth the money. We would definitely recommend this attraction! We went on New Years Day!

A nice walk in the ZOO gives you the impression of many kinds of animals from all over the world + they have the Panda Bear.
