We took this ride at the recommendation of a tour guide with whom we had been with the previous day. It was a Sunday and there was a small queue for the ride. The lady assistant was however on her own and had to deal with two queues - those with prebooked tickers and those without. We boarded after 30 minutes and requested the English commentary - which we did not receive until the return journey. The views are really panoramic as you would expect and the park below is enormous. We saw the fun white-knuckle ride at the theme park in the distance with riders enjoying a different style of thrill.

It's not just for kids! Great fun, long cable car ride offering great views of the Palacio Real and Madrid skyline. You can see much of the huge park Campo de Casa and you won't have to walk in the blistering heat. It's a huge park but with basically nothing in it! Make sure you get a return ticket as the walk back would be too long and it's easier to get to the other sights on the other side of the campo by metro. Cable car had an audio guide in English, you just have to ask for it. Actually turned out to be really interesting. Return ticket for two only 11€.

Went on this after discovering it on the Internet and thought we would give it a go. We came mid day on the Saturday and there was a huge queue so decided to come back first thing on the Monday (which is recommended if you don't want to queue!). You do get an ok view of madrid and the park but once you are over the canal and motorway, the park is really desolate and bleak and there's not much to see apart from the theme park. For this reason, we stayed on the cable car and decided nor to get off which I'm glad we did as it sounds like there's nothing to do at the other side!
Overall, A good way to kill time if you've got nothing else to do and it was relatively inexpensive.

The MadridCard had been a godsend at all of the museums (quicker admission) and would have also useful to get in the express lane here. Ours had expired. The line was very long and the cashiers were disorganized. We could not enjoy a drink at the bar overlooking the park because by the time we got into our car, the ride was about to close (it took us 90 minutes to get down the stairs and to the cashier. There is a kiosk to buy tickets, which of course was broken.
Once on the ride, though, it was a pleasant 11 minute ride overlooking the Campo, the city, and the mountains. The audiocommentary is really annoying but probably aimed at children. Definitely a must do with the kids.
