“A hidden treasure-trove”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

This privately-run museum and art gallery was a delight to visit. It houses a private collection amassed during the early part of the 20th century from both Spain and other european countries. An amazingly rich hoard of art, sculpture, jewellery, furniture, ceramics, armoury and textiles, in a beautifully preserved mansion house. When we visited there were a total of 8 visitors in the entire building (and over 30 staff)

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

This is an undervisited museum in a city with so many attractions, including the world-famous museums Prado and Thyssen. In my last day in the city, I manage to visit this place, not expecting much and it was a really nice surprise, the building itself is beautiful, and the collection amazing, including Bosch and Goya.

“A must for art lovers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

This little visited museum contains a huge collection of works of art, in an interesting building. It is highly recommended for the Goyas, and the textile collection.
Take into account that it closes at 4 o´clock.

“Beautiful!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

Interesting Armoury with very neat weapons and armour. The palace is beautiful, more spectacular inside than Versailles. Small grounds as is inner-city BUT really cool historical pharmacy on the grounds. I found the palace fascinating and gorgeous.

“A hidden gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

This is one of the lesser-known museums in Madrid, but it's actually the largest private collection in Spain after the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum. Just the building alone deserves a visit, but you will be surprised by its small but impressive collection of paintings (Goya, Leonardo, Bosch) and artifacts, especially the Oriental ones.
